Dwain, I don't agree with your politics or your religion, but at least you are a climber.
Whichever side of the political fence people like Apogee, pyro, norton, escopeta, craig fry, etc may be on, why are they posting here? This is a forum for climbers, not for political ranters.

Riley appears to have done what he believes is best for him.

Ummmm. Let's see. Iranian Mullahs pledge to destroy Israel. If they're good on their word they will do so when they have the means. Israel on the other hand pledges to destroy no one, only to defend herself. Anyone who can't see the difference is not paying attention, rather molding the facts around their own dogma.

Well, people can differ and still be civil. I happen to think that Hillary is a WAY better option than Trump, for a number of reasons, including basic intelligence.

Ghost, you have no idea as to what my climbing background is, because I don't offer it here very much, and when I have, you obviously haven't noticed or paid attention. So please dispense with your erroneous assumptions. Thank you.
In any case, in spite of the regular assertions of many here to the contrary, climbing experience doesn't validate anyone's worldview...I'm sure we can agree on that.

The rich Arab nations, there are many, can solve the Palestinian problem. They have the money to relieve the poverty, and they can choose to engage with Israel to work for peace. Instead they do neither, they think it is to their advantage to play the Palestinians as pawns, a festering wound in Israel's side.
Would Israel welcome such an overture from her Arab neighbors? That is exactly what they want. It would be a win/win deal.
Israel does not seek or want war. They want peace. If they wanted war you'd know it, all hell would break loose. Find a nation under such constant attacks and threat which exercises such restraint. Our US would have destroyed a neighboring country which continually launched missiles into our cities, deployed suicide bombers in our markets and buses, and declared we have no right to exist.
