Can skiing a wind blown hard crust be considered shredding? Yesterday on Copper Mt. Idaho.

Down lower, protected by the trees, much better for shredding.

Time to dig this thread up from oblivion! So it's been a long summer, and i spent a lot of time dreaming about what riding would be like.

I found out today.

Sandra's been super nervous about me going up again, because she thinks i'm gonna kill myself. She didn't want me to ride that board either. (It's the one i hurt myself on.)

I don't buy into any of that crap, and i was gonna get right back on the horse that bucked me. It worked out pretty good. Felt really wierd because my left foot is still severely lacking in feeling, and i was pretty aprehensive at first, but by the second run things felt a bit more normal.

I certainly don't have the strength or endurance i used to have. The back felt ok. A little weird when i really tweaked a turn. Riding is gonna be super good for me. I just have to remember there's no toprope on the hill!!

Yeeeeee haw!!

Great news Mike. Wasn't that long ago that you didn't know if you'd ever walk again, let alone ride that board.

How'd your back feel the next morning?

That's on the hill. It's a really good day if snow totals in the valley match the mountain totals!!

It's still a bit boney up here!

A lovely morning on the darkside

Got a few faceshots so far!

Jersey Cream pano

I'm feeling a lot better about riding today. I'm learning to use my left heel which has feeling again, as an indicator where my front foot is and it feels alot more natural. Pow feels good too because my front foot feels permanently floaty and thats what pow feels like. ;)

I got three laps in today before i hit the lodge for a break.

Rendezvous

I think i got a couple more in me.

Edit: not too bad Dave! It feels better up here today!! Riding is like doing squats for 20 minutes consectutively!!

I got up the hill a couple days ago with Sandra's dad, Mike.

Here he is by the Peak to Peak chair.

It was -17c that day, but Mike thought it was warm..

We did a lap on green chair and then i took these shots at the top.

Mike was having a blast. He said this was "as good as it gets in Ontario!"

After another run on Whistler we headed over to Blackcomb for a few there.

I'm starting to feel way better on my board now. This was my third day, and i felt pretty comfortable. My back seems to be playing nice too at the moment.

Hope you all are ripping some turns out there!!

Timing is everything, two weeks ago I froze may cheeks off survival skiing at Bridger Bowl in sub-zero weather:
I left on a Tuesday with warming weather and it dumped that day some 26", damn timing is everything in the snow sliding game!!! Sure wish things would change here in the Tahoe Sierra where it is bone dry with no storms in the forecast.
