I wonder if ferretlegger can do that well dancing the ferret trot?

Storm was born Josephine Owaissa Cottle in Bloomington in Victoria County, Texas. The youngest of five children, she had two brothers and two sisters. Her father, William Walter Cottle, died after a year-long illness when she was just seventeen months old, and her mother, Minnie Corina Cottle, struggled to raise the children alone.
One of her sisters gave Josephine the middle name "Owaissa," a Norridgewock Amerindian word meaning "bluebird." Storm's mother Minnie took in sewing, then opened a millinery shop in McDade, Texas, which failed, and finally moved the family to Houston.
Storm learned to be an accomplished dancer and became an excellent ice skater at Houston's Polar Palace. She performed in the drama club at both Albert Sidney Johnston Junior High School and San Jacinto High School.
When she was 17 years old, two of her teachers urged her to enter a contest on Gateway to Hollywood, broadcast from the CBS Radio studios in Hollywood, California. First prize was a one-year contract with a movie studio. She won and was immediately given the stage name Gale Storm. when i was babysitting on night, YEARS back, before i was married, i saw that 'golden earrings' movie, that night... forgot all about...
was always interesting and fun to watch those old black and white classics!
so--i just hit the link, and lo and behold, wow, did not KNOW you could see the whole movie... oh my...
so, am checking it now, hee hee, instead of reading the wonderful ol' taco...
i know, i know--at TIMES like this, we are supposed to 'read tea leaves' not tacos... ;))

He's a great actor for his times and his roles. Washing is hands before Congress was a smart idea and timely, it seems to me.
Politics and appearances before Congress...
Cooper was a staunch supporter of the Republican Party. He voted for Calvin Coolidge in 1924 and Herbert Hoover in 1928 and 1932. He campaigned for Wendell Willkie in 1940. Cooper attended a rally organized by David O. Selznick in 1944 in the Los Angeles Coliseum in support of the Dewey-Bricker ticket as well as Governor Earl Warren of California, who would become Dewey's running mate in 1948. The gathering drew 93,000, with Cecil B. DeMille as the master of ceremonies and short speeches by Hedda Hopper and Walt Disney. Among others in attendance were Ann Sothern, Ginger Rogers, Adolphe Menjou, Randolph Scott, and Walter Pidgeon. Despite the good turnout at the rally, most Hollywood celebrities who took a public position sided with the Roosevelt–Truman ticket.
In 1944, Cooper joined the anti-communist Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals. While filming Good Sam, he testified before the House Committee on Un-American Activities on October 23, 1947, characterized as a "friendly" witness. Asked if he had observed "communistic influence in Hollywood", Cooper named no one in particular but said he had "turned down quite a few scripts because I thought they were tinged with communistic ideas"; he also said he had heard statements such as "don't you think the Constitution of the United States is about 150 years out of date?" and "perhaps this would be a more efficient government without a Congress"—-statements he characterized as "very un-American".
He also told the committee:
Several years ago, when communism was more of a social chit-chatter in parties for offices, and so on when communism didn't have the implications that it has now, discussion of communism was more open and I remember hearing statements from some folks to the effect that the communistic system had a great many features that were desirable. It offered the actors and artists—in other words, the creative people—a special place in government where we would be somewhat immune from the ordinary leveling of income. And as I remember, some actor's name was mentioned to me who had a house in Moscow which was very large—he had three cars, and stuff, with his house being quite a bit larger than my house in Beverly Hills at the time—and it looked to me like a pretty phony come-on to us in the picture business. From that time on, I could never take any of this pinko mouthing very seriously, because I didn't feel it was on the level.
Cooper's testimony occurred a month before the Hollywood blacklist was established. Other members of the Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals included Clark Gable, Ginger Rogers, Victor Fleming, Ronald Reagan, and Barbara Stanwyck, among many others.
At the end of 1959, Cooper and his family toured the Soviet Union at the invitation of Soviet Premier Nikita Kruschev.

hey there say, mouse... happy to be back... my critter pets are all, thank god, okay...
got the yard settled on sunday,
me settled on mon...
paintings read to do more, on tue...
wed, more yard stuff... had to finish it up...
thurs, helped an ex bosslady...
and today, as well...
now, this weekend, i hope to catch up on the ol' taco,
though i have peeked around a bit, here and there...
happy good trip to you and prayers...

need to see a few rawhides, here, to anchor me down at home,
being that i sure miss my mom and kids and grandkids now...
i need to feel that ol' 'life is a trail drive' feeling,
and that we 'transfer life' along the trail to so many
folks, we need to make sure we are strong, reliable, and yet kind,
as we do so...

On St. John's Eve this year I went with the old woman who
lives in the cottage on the bog, to celebrate with the spirits
of our ancestors, with Christian and pre-Christian Ireland,
the Midsummer of the year. There was no night ; darkness
did not fall till one hour before the east had brightened
again ; only an all-pervading grey, blue light that was neither
night nor day. A white star showed here and there, high,
distant, unregarded in the twilight. A sickle moon, that
seemed to have caught herself on the red-brown arm of one
of the Scots firs standing by the bog, made no appreciable
difference on the scene. We walked through a strange
border-land unclaimed as yet by the night. Under every
tree lay a black, pool-like shadow across which one might
fancy moved the boats of the Sidhe. Near by rose their
habitation, the steep, tree-crowned rath.

In Denmark, the celebration is called sankthans or sankthansaften ("St. John's Eve"). It is the day where the medieval wise men and women would gather special herbs that they needed for the rest of the year to cure people.The Danes often meet with family and friends to have dinner together. If the weather is good, they then proceed to a local bonfire venue. Here the bonfire with the witch on top is lit around 10 pm. Beforehand, a bonfire speech is often made, at large events normally by a well-known person. According to popular belief, St John’s Eve was charged with a special power where evil forces were also at work. People believed that the witches flew past on their broomsticks on their way to the Brocken. To keep the evil forces away, the bonfires were usually lit on high ground. Placing a witch – made of old clothes stuffed with hay – on the bonfire is a tradition which did not become common until the 20th century.

So here I am in Minden, NV. Is this another TR-in-progress, a real-time adventure a la Nut Job?
I don't know.
I'll tell you when I get to Idontno. I had karaoke AND sushi yesterday.
I'm living the life here in Little Poland, but we are on the road again in twenty.
The sky is so much NICER over here, I can't help noticing. Moosedrool Manor is a very cool house with amenities tat I appreciate.
Before I set out, I want you to know that I will never be able to repay Mr. Moosedrool for this adventure. We shall try to make it all Windy and Willowy for you who wanted to be here for this solstice gathering.
