Here's another that is a very rare bird in my neck of the woods. Also a complete mystery. Don't think I've ever seen one before in the greater Lake Tahoe Basin. Any ideas?
Picture of this one was June 8th, 2014, Horsethief Canyon, Woodfords, CA. I hope to return to the site soon to check out its bloom development. Maybe next week.
Lastly, since I'm on a roll here, how about this as well. I see them everywhere in the area, Sierra eastside Tahoe to Twin Lakes, and I've always wanted to know its name. It comes mostly in blue to purple to red I think...
These were also high up off Woodfords Canyon, CA, pics taken in June 2014.
