Dave there is always somewhere to go in Joshua Tree where you won't see any one. I lived in Tahoe for 15 years and 4 in Cartoon City. The only reason that I said anything about the Hwy 88 routes is because someone asked me to give info on a previous Woodfords thread. I'm not spraying about anything!
Oh, by the way I think there are more like 10,000 routes in Josh. Not counting the 200+ on the Cohn Property, but that doesn't matter because you can't climb on the Cohn Property. J T is already exploited. Doesn't that teach you anything?
Hey Ron Anderson, didn't you used to live up near Red Lake, just past Bill Rose's place?

blitzo-
I'm not trying to start any animosity towards anyone, I just read stuff that sounds hypocritical to me. Just an observation, by me and my opinion.
I have lived in Tahoe for 29 years and carson for 11 years, this really does not mean anything.
And just like Josh you can always climb in woodfords or hwy 88 and not see anyone either. For instance I have been walking all over this area for years, quietly putting up FA's. Never named or rated any of the problems, because it really just does not matter. and who knows what I thought were FA's, were probably done before, maybe by you. Cool. My thought is that Dano probably did them and we never take credit. Never mattered to me who did it first, just that it was cool and fun.
again no hard feelings, just wanted to convey what i see.
take care

No worries Dave. I just feel that with so many exploited areas, shouldn't we leave some to those who know it and those who come upon it? How much wilderness experience is left anyway?
Cheers!

wilderness experience at woodfords? We are talking about the same 100 yard wide canyon with a highway through it, right?
Not to sound dismissive, but seeing another climber in that place wouldn't be as distracting as the jake brakes or harley davidsons.

Can we start talking politics again.
Its not like its a new guide book, its just getting an update. Is there as much sh#t stirred up when an updated guide comes out for any other area?
Hooterv......long time
Still can never understand WTF your talking about.
Need to have some winter sessions again and hang out

Your right Franky, but it's more of a wilderness experience than it would be with hundreds of people.
