Patrick, as a mere observer, you've developed quite a nasty streak lately. Reminds me of that AC numbskull. And often me too, after a rough day at work, herding cats. Why so angry? And no need to blame Bush once again. I detect your pain somehow.
The fact that you, Lois, are a voyeur of such an extreme sport should not disqualify your opinion based on that metric alone. I have hammered you on occasion about this. However, your avoidance MO continues to be a drag. You should go climbing and it would render sensible all the shrieking and clutching and moaning and thrashing about that all of us find so immensely graifying. And that you have yet to experience so resolutely.

"The fact that you, Lois, are a voyeur of such an extreme sport..."--mimi
Wow is that wrong. On so many levels, to use an overused phrase.
Mimi, LEB has merely found an entertaining, social outlet for all of her insecurities and phobias. I'd go on, but who wants to talk psychology and sociology when there are politics to argue about.
Yea, it's the weekend...rock or bust.

She has acknowledged as such, but how could voyeur be inaccurate?

It's Fran's chocolates. Made right here in Seattle. Way tastier, less sugar than those others.
Yeah, yeah, I recall how you're lame and all that but so what. Lots of lame folks have gone climbing and really liked it.

I have no idea who or what this "RickRoll" is - but if you SOBs are disparaging my Facelift sushi makings I am going to have to pout.

LEB, jess have to say, lettuce salad alone will not get yo up the crag...crank some protein, gal. Yo may be better fit if yo eat like a climber. (I will not respond to your thoughts on your diet. jess sayin')
I used to build all this climbing stuff up in my mind when i went out with my hub, leb. Thought all these climbers were super heros.
jess looked at the Josh redux 70's thread. People climbing headstone arete, thought they were incredible. What a brain and over imagination can do to yo. I and the grandkids climbed the same climb two weeks ago. nbd.
I think leb you could do a climb and I am so serious. I had a terrible fear of heights bitd which Dan cured for me over many patient and IMpatient years. Go fo' it gal ... only one life, chiquita. Peace and Joy, Lynne
Edit: Mimi, great post !

The RickRoll, nice!
Lois did you check out the Facelift stuff?
You'd prolly actually love it. A lot of socializing!
I can't find my Facelift thread though....

Lois, I respectfully ask you to stay away from these threads. As locker stated, you have no clue as to the committment climbers feel when they rope up. STAY AWAY. You are clueless as to the emotions going on here . I remember Hartouni saying about the same exact thing in the Seperate Reality thread , and when I commented something - my post got yanked .

It's actually true Lois. Ron Kauk who named that big roof "Separate Reality" was heavy into the consciousness that was about that book.
He would have immediately understood where you were coming from.
These people here have their heads way to far wrapped around pure dull matter.

Lois, you come off as such an a-hole when you say crap like this. Have you visited these high-end spirituality sites? Surely, you'd find them much more gratifying than what you find here. At least you don't have to leave the garden to relate.

LEB, the point is yo don't have to work at climbing. Get someone to rope you in...don some shoes and go up an easy rock. I'm trying to say it is not as hard as your brain or eyes say it is. And when you get to the top.....well, it's the best feeling ever....better than christmas or an engagement ring...zeriously. :D Cheers to future endeavours. Lynne
