My eyes are messed up. I thought the thread title was 'sugary Tuesday' and thought it must be something about the election so hey, what the hell I'll bite and take a peek.
Good luck, Curt.
As a little incentive I'll have those special ropes waiting for you when you're ready.
Jim, you know, if you really are going to make those ropes, I will have to do EVERYTHING possible to live long enough to climb on them. What a perfect dream that set of doubles would be!
Hope you do get in touch with Corbet up there, you could teach him a thing or two, and he's a great guy, so once you learn to put up with his whining, you'd have a great time climbing together, LOL.
Again to the nice people posting in this thread, thank you very much for your thoughts.
To Ekat, yes, that Blanchard is THE best steel string I ever heard. I have to stick around long enough to get Mark to build the extended neck version. How about you build a fire under him for me? Hell if John Gilbert is building me a special classical to play that junk I write that needs 22 frets, I think Old Mark can do it for one of his steel strings.
Besides, Mark told me mine was just a normal Blanchard. NOW I want THE BEST Blanchard, LOL!!!! (not sure I could stand it though. Even with two month old strings, that Blanchard is hotter than a two dollar pistol on Saturday night.
I do think that if I should luck out and live 6 more months, and be semi-mobile, I'll come meet a bunch of you guys.
I know a few people on here personally-- all too few. With rare exceptions, the ST crowd is a wonderful bunch. Thanks for your support.

Good luck, Curt! Looking forward to meeting you at next year's FaceLift.
You'll be happy to hear that rumours that LEB will be coming to help you are totally unfounded.

OMG, THAT offer is even better than Jim E's set of magic doubles he's going to build if I live!!!
Jen, you'll have to meet my GF, you'd like her. You two could have a blast climbing together too. She's an official Steg initiate to Big Green and LK now, LOL!
And to the rest of you who I only know from ST, thanks again for the support. Maybe one day, with some luck, I'll get to meet you guys. Probably no climbing in my future though. This surgery pretty much rules out Climbing, but hey, I can still hang out with Jello and play some music maybe.

Sorry that you are not well. I don't really know you but here's wishing you the best. No-one deserves to suffer. Try Ganga tincture -it is a good alternative to fentanyl and it really works. Good luck and stay strong

For some reason this tune, an Irish tune I think, but I'm not positive about that, "The piper in the Meadow Straying", just popped into my head.
IT's interesting because ten years ago, that tune helped me deal with cancer rounds one and two, haha.
IT's a really nice tune.
the guy who played it best died tragically-- He was Derrek Bell, a musical prodigy, who played harp with the chieftains. He played a lot of other instruments too, and composed, and I think on his album Musical Ireland, he overdubbed the Cor Anglais with the harp for The Piper in the Meadow Straying.
I think I'll play that tune some tonight, and make a full arrangement for it. Ten years late, LOL, but better late than never.
Did I mention it's a nice tune?

You know Curt. I've always wanted to wag some person up the side of the Cap... So, maybe we can. After seeing the pictures on the Nose Gathering, where they are using bicycle tires to pull up the haul bag... Well, anything is possible... Listen man, diabetes II is causing me to loose vision in my left eye, if you hang w/ me, we can be the stuff... I'll wear an eye patch, and you can chew on a stick like John Wayne, take a slug of Jim Beam, and then we can figure it out. By diggity, where there is a will there is a way... first drop me an email, after surgery, so I can come visit, and then.... I'm gonna make me and you HURT... were gonna get strong again. You HAVE TO BELIEVE things are gonna go your way. They say the ones who died in the Nazi camps were the ones who lost hope... DON'T DO THAT brother.
Everybody here really cares about you... you got real friends man. My heart will be completely broken if anything happens to you... so by God, you be TOUGH. I'm praying for you, and like Neebee said. I'll commit to fast (as best I can.. that stuff sucks :) ) and pray on Tuesday... So Everybody is pulling for you, but ultimately, it's gonna fall on your WILL. Believe, PULL HARD! That roof sucks, but you can pull over the lip. Just get a good foot, stand up, and look for the angels that will get you to the next jug.... Your on brother!
