On my May bailout off El Cap. Pulled a rap and ducked the head. 75 meters off one side and 35 off the other. Over in an instant, but will have the scar for a few more seasons.

Nice pics everyone! Especially those at the end there Trusty. Looks like some sick projects up yonder. Or over yonder, or down yonder....you know...wherever that is.

To give a climbing-photo thread one more pass down our dismal front page ...
guidebook calls this fun climb "a 5.8 route for 5.10 leaders."

Chiloe - two weeks, 3000 miles.

Next time, I'm driving less, climbing more. We completely wiped out Ed's climbing trip rules on this one. Although I must say, there at the end in Maple Canyon, we didn't have a whole lot left under the hood...finger wise.

p.s. Cool rainbow pic above!

Chiloe - two weeks, 3000 miles.

Hmmm, plenty of mileage. Maybe next year, we'll hit the road. After April, this year was a
near-total bust, for reasons beyond our control. In the meantime, I'll keep chipping
in occasional photos from our tree-loving northeastern crags.

On the other hand, outside my window the trees are starting to change color.

The big reason for a lot of the mileage was because I'd never been to Devil's Tower and wanted to climb there one way or the other. This was my shot. Now I want to go back. :-)

Bet those trees are beautiful. We're finally dropping into two-digit temps and the really nice part of the year for us. You know when the high temperature is only 98 for the day, summer is on it's way out! :-)

It's not the Canadian Rockies without a snowstorm! I'm trying to make sense of the Edith Cavell photo. Is that looking back towards the trailhead from the E. Ridge? Whereabouts on the mountain?

It's about halfway up the first step of the east ridge. The photo is slightly tilted and at a really awkward angle. Try tilting your head so the horizon is level, might help. :)

I tried to get all three of our shadows in the pic. Correct, The parking lot/trailhead is in the middle between the two lakes.

We ended up having to bail due to heavy snow/ice just below the first step. Great day though. I hope to try again next summer.

Another pic from the same day: B&W though.
