Fatty, AC has stated to me a few times he will be at the facelift. He's got no reason to not make it. He loves the crowd and the place. And he likes my sushi!

Fatty tell the story about meeting Crowley last year. Who did he tell him he was? Pretty funny stuff.

Crowley was great at the facelift and I'm glad he'll be back this year. His in-person persona is nothing like his online one was. It'll be a great time.

And that's my point, Ouch. I really, really like Matthew. Many of the things he posted on ST were focused on social justice and improving the quality of life everywhere. He was totally clued into that realm, and passionate about people waking up to the reality of what was happening in the US and the world.

And then there was the way he talked about his son...what an awesome Dad he is! I talked to him on the phone one night, and he was just cool as heck.

But on ST, once a disagreement started, it would deteriorate into name calling, one-worded slams, and a surprisingly close-minded attitude. I think the Crowley persona had a lot to do with that..."wicked Crowley" from his nefarious predecessor. I don't believe that's who Matthew really is, but can you blame certain people here for knowing only the antagonistic side of that persona and not liking it?

The trouble is, how can you be such a proponent for peace and fight so continuously on a forum like ST? Stating your position and showing the flaws in your opponent's position is one thing...but constantly insulting people and ripping them to shreds on a personal level is not the best way to Win Friends and Influence Climbers. It is also so at odds with what you claim you want for the world in general as to be somewhat unbelievable.

The fact that you and HK don't agree politically doesn't mean you have to hate him and rip into him every chance you get, does it? I don't agree with him politically either--so what? He's a nice guy in private emails...probably just as nice in person. If he calls me an idiot for wanting to save sea otters, I'd probably call him an idiot back for not wanting to save them...post a couple pix of cute, cuddly fuz-faces, and that would be that.

Why does it have to turn into so much hatred and arse-biting?

I still miss AC though...when he was good, he was very, very good. :-)

Fatty...did you watch that video Philo and I were talking about? The one you promised you'd watch?

And of course I would miss you, Jeff! You don't think I hate you, do you? You know I don't agree with your opinions on things, particularly wholesale war. But these are your "opinions" and they may change with time, or understanding, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster coming to visit you one night.

You sound like a great dad and appear to have a sense of humor...especially with all the sheriff caw-caw you drop. If you got the impression I "hated" you, you are way off the mark. I don't hate people--but I can despise their actions. Like the Israel soldier who killed that young American girl with the bulldozer. I certainly despised that action.

I hope you're not planning on getting booted from here.

And BTW...Cheney is a reptile. I told you long ago I saw his eyes do the Lizard-lid thing. I love reptiles. But they should only be pets, not VPs.

Edit: Got it before you did, Stevie!!!

Ah, that's right - he told you he was Jody. Hee hee heee!

And Fatty being the supreme gentleman he is was very nice and polite to Crowley. The politeness continued (in both directions) even when Fatty learned it was Crowley.

I'm glad he'll be there. I wish HK would come as well. The more the merrier. :)

Woah! Hold on there...

I'm all for saving sea otters and other cuddly creatures. Why would I be against that?

Actually, I am pretty moderate politically, although to some, that means right-wing nazi.

Whatever...

I suppose you're going to make a t-shirt with that on it now, aren't you, HK? I'm thinking I should get residuals... ;-)

Come to FaceLift, Dave--it's looking like a wild time will be had by all!

HK Edit: Duuuuuudddddeeeeee...I was just grasping for an "out-there" example! I don't think anything of the kind...that's why I used it.

If I'm not mistaken HK did buy into sushi for one fest but never made it so he has a credit. So does L. There are a few others with credit due. I have some paperwork to do.

I'd love to see Junior mate with Cheney. OR at least hump his leg.

Sorry Nature...I donated that "credit" to the Starving SushiChef Fund. I figured I bagged twice...my bad, not yours.

Besides, with inflation...that $30 is probably only worth about $1.14US now....

L, if Crowley had been of the rightwing political persuasion, the lynch mob would have spared him. LOL! After all, to most people, this is all just silly words. Precious little thought is wasted on the quality of the retorts.

This group needs more weirdos.

Behold the poor right wing lynch mob victim!!

Surely making just under 14,000 posts in well under a year had nothing to do with it,
irrespective of the fact that many of those posts were knott-so complimentary (to put it mildly)...

Oh, the humanity!

I absolutely agree with you, Ouch.

I think the people who complained the loudest about AC were the same ones posting clown faces every post, and arguing with him about bush, and politics, and DDT and The War and everything else that he argued about on this Forum. Yep, the whole Right Wing contingent.

The thing is, Ouch...if Crowley had been a staunch Republican, if he'd had a photo of bush in his wallet (I know--don't laugh) and was The Lizard's best friend...if Crowley had argued with Dems and Libs and environmentalists and anyone left of the dividing line the way he argued with everyone on the other side...

I think there would've been phone calls from a bunch of liberals/dems/enviros and anyone else who got called a #@?!&#X!! all the time. The fact that I supported his views on so many issues didn't blind me to the fact that his method of communication towards many left something to be desired.

Heck yeah he livened the place up...but somewhere between liveliness and verbal lacerations resides a place where many adults can converse and not come to blows.

I've got to admit I miss the Donny madness too...which I can't even believe I'm writing because he was soooooo out there. But he was so funny at times, too.
