Lasti, Really good to meet you from across the pond. So GLAD you joined us. Don't be a stranger. Yeah, Ed was one of the first to take me under his wing when I recently joined The ST.

Do you like to read? Maybe you could join us on the Book Club Forum? See around the Taco I hope. Peace and Joy, Lynne

DJS and Curlie! it would have been more polite of us to stop and talk a bit, but we were in the moment and rolling.

Those slabs always seem so improbable, if I hadn't been down them so many times I'd not believe it possible to just walk down. First time of the year you always say to yourself "ok, been here before, don't f*#k up"

Jaybro said: "I read the topic title I heard that Talking heads song that has the line "Lost my shape, trying to stay natural"

That would be "Crosseyed and Painless", in the playlist that got me through todays morning commute.

Hi Derek & Curlie,

Wish we had been more social. No reason not to be ...beautiful day, casual climbing....here's a shot of Ed on the descent slabs.

Hope to run into you again sometime.

It's one of the most enjoyable descents anywhere.
Better in comfy shoes.
Just lean forward and keep your feet moving.

whoa, looks like a cool decent...

Though it sounds like it'd be a slip-n-slid with all that rain! Yikes eKat!

You definitely want to learn how to do these things fast.
The last time I climbed the Great White Book, it was starting to
sprinkle when I got to the top. Black clouds, lightning in the
distance.
Naturally, I hauled ass down offa there, wanting to avoid the
nastiness. The snail-like group I passed at one of the steps
was really lucky the storm sort of stopped a ways to the East.
If they had been buying my beer I would have had a dry throat
for a long, long time.

Nice TR Ed,
I only done one route on SPD. I need to hook up with you guys for one of your days there. We were starting our Salathe attempt Saturday. I was not in the shape I'd hoped to be that day. I'll post some pics.
See ya soon.

Yea, thats a great slab descent. How many of you have had your partner freeze up and insist on rappelling or being lowered down the slabs? Have had it happen many times.

These slabs are one of the good places to practice slab descents.
You get any steepness you want just by moving to the side.
If you've got a tuolumne first-timer, it's a good idea to check
out descending abilities.

It's like skiing..you gotta keep your weight over your feet, and try not to trip over em. And crabwalking does work amazingly well. :-)
