Interesting and worthwhile project.

Among all the forum styles, I consider the freeform SuperTopo style the best. It is likewise the best style for climbing, creating the most thinking.

But the absence of a primary index category in your project, for climbing freedom or climbing regulations, and the paucity of the subject on SuperTopo indicates why previously freedom-advancing American climbers have become so gullible and victimized by idiots in government, both in regard to climbing restrictions and mindless support whatever wars the dolts in DC start.

The unlawfully demanded $200 per climber to walk on public land described as Denali goes to the General Fund to fund George's ego gratification wars. And climbers mindlessly pay the money.

Climbers need only the mountains and their freedom, not organizations or forums.

Perhaps it is time for me to analyze other climber forums to see if any have attracted a greater percentage of genuine climbers, those who understand individual freedom.

Good luck on the project.

Perhaps we should have a vote on whether political and religious threads should be included. I'm afraid that few of DB's are likely to make it, although he mostly just sticks his anti-NPS, anti-authority, anti-American Alpine Club, anti-Access Fund rants as non sequiturs in other threads. Some of LEB's threads do seem to make the cut, though not a high percentage.

Bearing in mind that it's my index. I hope it will be useful to others, but there will undoubtedly be a subjective element to it. Heisenberg and all that.

Yup, in the unlikely event that I was king for a day, the peasants would undoubtedly revolt the day after.

What Russ said.

An index may be a noble, doomed idea - as Steve Roper said of Esperanto. Still, it might be of some use to some.

The last time I had a beer with Chris he suggested that I go back and index my ST threads and postings which I would love to do once I have the time.

So much great material on this forum obscured by the SOS.
