Fair enough, Lois.

remember: rationalization=justification=hypocrisy

With all due respect, growing veggies in a garden ain't like trying to produce crops on a piece of bare land--which is precisely why pioneers (and indiginous people) harvested game. We think that we have evolved, but we are only a big "blast" away from the dark ages.

Lois, your last words will make me sleep sound, tonight.

For your peace of mind towards me, read this.

I have never killed an animal larger than a rock-chuck (Montuckan, remember).
I have seen a bull elk quartered with a reciprocating Sawz-all, after watching the innards melt the snow and leave a blood stain the size of a Suburban footprint.
I have shot varmints purely for the sport of target (I felt a little bad, but think of the livestock saved).
My only gun is a double-barrelled 12 gauge shot-gun.
I have wrapped the butcherings of 2 deer, and thoroughly enjoyed the pure, fresh venison back-strap BBQ that evening.

Sleep well.

I was on my way, Lois, but just for you--I wrote simple truth, the perfect night cap.

edit: Your honesty gave me peace of mind.

My opinion towards hunting has no merit--my actions and deeds do. I do not feel qualified to be in the shoes of a big-game hunter because I have NEVER been there. Just because you adore our furry friends does not give you the right to judge the hunter. Logically, you understand what the ramifications of hunting are, but brush them off to shout out your opinion.

Your post a couple back gave me the feeling of communication with a person, not an opinion, and I felt better after reading it, which helps me to nod off to sleep at bedtime.

I hope that clears it up because my forehead is now clicking the pad. Nighty-night.

I think Jody might have had the right idea. Think I'll go shoot myself.

hey there all... say, i must be late to the table... as there is so much "trays of stuff" spread out here... i must have missed something somewhere....

say, though, if this sharing of so many thoughts:
jody
hunting
vegetables
drugs
medicine
photos
and what not...
is being done, there sure must be a reason, and not knowing the fulness of it all, all i can add is:

say, in a proper LANDSCAPE, whether in nature, or a man-planned garden, every thing has its proper-place to be planted at--for it to florish AND the fullness to florish... everything is there for a reason, in the scheme of things:
so all folks are displaying part of this "life" here, varied living "plants", as you all may be---some billowing over the rocks, or others, as lichen, along the rocks... and some as alpine flowers, and others as tall strong trees, and some thorny burrss, and some as needed ground-cover, or field grass... (etc, etc, etc)

and--each new area we PASS THROUGH in nature, is different than another... so most likely, differnt post here, will vary as we "pass through" them... even as the landscape has it purpose... [i must say, this post SURE is varied, and now i have added a new tray of "supstanance" so to speak]
every landscape area is set up for its reason, in the scheme of things, too:
so some post areas here are as meadow, some as forest, some as dark caves, some as swamp-muck, and some as rich-flowing streams of life,to sustain folks, and some as sturdy trails that press on to guide folks to right-nice CLIMB... whether in life, or the real thing--rock, by rock...

well, now... moving right along... i think i'll try another "landscape-area" tonight... seems i see some stars shining out there... and perhaps a few "hardy plants" shining in the moonlight...

i best be moseying off to see what kind of message i can glean from then... perhaps i may "plant" a few seedlings of my own, too...

edit: oooops, forgot to say good night...thanks for all, for sharing your lives here..

Oh, the drama. Why do people feel the need to announce that they are quitting a web site? Looking for a last ditch reason to stay?

Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
We never did too much talkin' anyway
So don't think twice, it's all right

Don't let the door hit you on your vagina on the way out.

-great update of that saying from the movie Knocked Up.

I hope Jody comes back. He provides lot's of conflict which makes things interesting. He also provides snippets of his independent thinking which I think makes us all have hope for helping him understand that there's a number of bad/wrong viewpoints that come from a purely right wing outlook.

I've been reading about the Bible lately and maybe 95% of it is good (in terms of advice and viewpoints), but that 5% that's wrong is really bad, e.g. slavery, beating your kids, intolerance. Of course maybe 5% of the liberal outlook is wrong too.

The problem for Jody is that it's 98% moderate or liberal here. As opposed to the country where it's maybe 40% conservative.

Jody, I'll miss your pictures, and some of your intereresting insights.

I will not miss you engaging in stupid conversations that appeared to be mindless arguments. You can put that on others and try and blame them for it, but you need to step up and remember that it takes 2 to tango, and that's 90 percent on your head, and not on another's, that YOU engaged in a stupid endless debate.

Hope you make it back sometime.

Just remember this Jody:

"I can't stand intolerance."

I used to care who posted and about what, now I don't give a damn, casue this site went to hell in so many different directions, it's hard to get your mind around it.

It's become an unmoderated unforumed smaller version of RC.com.

I hate LEB lite too. TO get the full effect, you need the full version, with all the calories and all the flavor.

But in the end, I think Jody is making the right decision. Message boards past a certain point are a big waste of time. Once you've met the friends you are going to meet, and heard the rather static climbing info, there's nothing left but the trolls and bitching, and who needs that?
