wow guys, best thread at the stand for days!!
as for raptor relationship, we have that out here at Pinnacles (sarcastic oneliners accepted) and at the Leap.. all bird lovers and climbers without rancor. there is precedent for climbing with nesters.

it's a new(ish) one...It's a 'rap in - climb out' pitch(to aviod nasty munge on the p1) that I cleaned and top roped when I was recovering from a finger injury a couple seasons ago.
Finally got around to return for a proper lead...

Good job, ami--I thought that it looked familiar, but it wasn't the same one as shown in the new guide. :-)

Thanks guys!
It's true Chris, the gear and climbing can be funky/unique. We've been finding offset tcus and hybrid aliens come in pretty handy on some pitches. Come on out, new guidebook(s!?) coming out soon.
thought this one was neat too...though my elbow looks kinda funny...

No bear problems/encounters in the Gallatins, or anywhere while climbing out here so far. You take precautions in the Beartooths though...
Lynch mob over a Bozeman guide? This will be the 3rd edition...there might be some turmoil over the Bozeman 'select' guide though...

Wow.. I started climbing out there and love seeing all the pics and hearing about developments. Good job! MT is the worst place for tight lipped locals and rock quality as well, but that canyon is fun. What is the name of that area out by norris, not breadloaves.. but that may be an area out there.. anyways.. I love the routes at Beehive basin and the backside of lava. those are fairly close to the canyon as well.
