I don't think any of us can yet fully appreciate his work.

There really DOES need to be a thorough cataloging before we can have truly deep discussions comparing the pre-animation Werner/46 series vs say for example the Blue Dog Period.
Indeed, the metaphorical significance of the reappearing twinkie or the phallic representation of the geoduck could well serve as the basis for a master's thesis.

What a wonderful soul. He brought me so many laughs and poked fun at so many people with such an even handed way. What a fantastic contribution he made.

Hoh man, how true, and poignant is that?

T*R, I hope by now that you have figured out that his immortalizing you in one of his works was an act of love and respect.

I never got Ouch!ed My daughter did, and it's an image and gift that we both cherish.

This picture of number 46 with the caption is my favorite...something peaceful about it and I know he would love it as well.

Thx for the nice words about him. I can't believe it has been a year. Longest year of my life.

I miss him too. He still makes me smile every day.

...ahhh, Ouch!

What an amazing individual, and how blessed we (and those honored to know him in the real world) were to be included in his sphere..

I was one of the lucky ones to be "Ouch!ed", and to this day I grin when I think about or see any of those goofy pieces of art!

Another bump for the one who made (most of) us smile!
