that wiki link was pretty interesting, thanks for posting. A couple things will doom his campaign though.
1. pro life
2. wants to abolish income tax
3. those racial comments
4. the republican establishment doesn't seem to like him.

fattrad: We were initially greeted as liberators...
What?
To paraphrase a good quote I just recently read somewhere:
"Republicans don't regard 1984 as a cautionary tale, but as a how-to manual."

Apparently Conan has sharp parents and he attended Harvard. Similar for Leno. I remember Conan writing for SNL.
Otherwise, ft, I agree with your previous post.

"The Shhites and Kurds were thrilled to see Saddam go. "
Still are. Doesn't mean that they were all happy to see us there...just as many of them don't now. There were many who were eager for us to invade. Many of them have been all over the news in the past 3 months lamenting their eagerness.

Due to your presence, AC, I don't elect to engage in a deeper dialogue. A little late for that.

For Fatty,
I little documentation regarding what I was talking about
From
http://www.commondreams.org/archive/2007/05/18/1330/
.....
Seven weeks before the start of the war, in his May 23 summit with Olmert, Bush strongly encouraged the Israeli prime minister to launch an attack on Lebanon soon, offering full U.S. support for the massive military operation. Just three days later, Israeli agents assassinated two Islamic militants in Sidon, leading to a series of tit- for-tat assassinations and abductions which eventually led to Hezbollah’s July 12 seizure of two Israeli soldiers, which was then used as the excuse for a war that had been planned for many months.
Investigative reporter Seymour Hersh quoted a consultant with the U.S. Department of Defense soon after the outbreak of the fighting as describing how the Bush administration “has been agitating for some time to find a reason for a preëmptive blow against Hezbollah.” He added, “It was our intent to have Hezbollah diminished, and now we have someone else doing it.”
Rather than a spontaneous reaction to Hezbollah’s July 12 attack on Israel’s northern border, as depicted by the Bush administration and congressional leaders of both parties, Israel and the United States had been planning the war since at least 2004. Israeli officials had briefed U.S. officials with details of the plans, including PowerPoint presentations, in what the San Francisco Chronicle described as “revealing detail.” ......

" every f*#king one of them was either an outright lie or merely based upon outright lies"
replace 'an outright lie' with 'incompetence' and 'outright lies' with incompetence, and add on a dosage of 'commander in chief, and you have grounds for impeachment in my book.
but most people in the U.S. are herd mentality.
gotta get a prod under em to move em.

The only reason we can't impeach Bush for lying under oath is because he won't go under oath, and the Democrats are spineless wimps for not going after him.
Without even an honest investigation, this administration is proven to be an overflowing septic tank of corruption, waste and lies. Let's hope somebody with a backbone decides to turn over a rock someday and see what's really going on.
Let's revoke their Lie-Sense to Kill

What a different world this would be today had Kerry or Gore been elected. The village idiot is running the show and ignoring every suggestion that has to do with intellegent decision making, ie: we need to talk with our enemies as the war commission pointed out. What happened to the dialogue and is it now too late. Adding more troops will only cost more lives. Diplomacy is the answer and those are big shoes to fill. Much too big for Bushco.
Besides being the "war president" he is ignoring domestic policy on health care, immigration, the upcoming real estate forclosure crisis, the all children left behind act, etc.
Nice party with Tony Blair though.

I also like how some people think we went in there to free up some oil. Not true-We went in there because there was TOO MUCH oil on the market. Now that BigOil has divided up the spoils and is controlling the flow, we have the highest prices ever, much, much higher than before we invaded, unprovoked.
