There's beautiful lightweight subtle faces between those dainty-burly crackabouts.

Don't know if Ratchet & I will be there. Depends on weather and conditions of the East Face Pocket Glacier...

Not sure if we will be able to make it back in Aug, but Tania just had a two day "learning to crack climb" at Vedauwoo. Good times, and I miss this place for sure. A bit crowded this weekend, but there is always stuff to do, esp. with a pad...

There's probs without crowds even on the busiest day. Girls younger than my virginity cruising problems that spit me off is sobering, though.

I'm strongly looking to make it up there, depending on the status of the home reno project which will be in full swing.
Burns, you're local (to me), maybe we can do something sometime around here if you can't make it to the Voo.

Jaybro, did you check out the photo sequence of Bob Scarpelli on page 62 in Alpinist #20? It's way cool except for one small "continuity" problem. In the large photo, he is wearing LaSportiva Kaukulators (a great boot)--then in the two smaller photos of the same route he miraculously put on Madrock lowtops, apparently DURING the crux section.
What's up with that ?

Mojede, I think that Scarpelli fellow might be more talented than we know.

Jello, I guess so--and now I know that there is sooo much more to learn when trying to be proficient on the wide. A true Master (such as Scarpelli) is so fast and graceful that his movements cannot be captured, or justified on film.

I'm considering too. Best place to fly in for a weekend? Any rides available from Denver?
