"I'm interested in who he was ...."

Means past tense. He's still here, and never left.

I never said that nor ever implied that, ("while condeming anyone who holds different views on life") you are saying that.

Have fun with your thread.

Yes, exactly.

So you misunderstood my meaning. You want to know the full truth of Jesus Christ. If you just take it as a curiosity then you'll only see the outside facade. Not the full complete picture.

Just as one sees such and such person on the street. many will give different views, but non complete unless they know him very intimately.

Just as those who see the mountain top from the village but never venture out.

Forget me, I can't make you see anything. You have to do that. You are focusing on me.

You are very wrong.

I definitely don't need the attention. Again you are trying to focus on me.

You are supposed to be "Looking for Jesus", but now turning it into something else.

Is this Harshness a means to an end, or a goal unto itself, wesx?

You just want to see his face." -Richards/Jagger

Amazing painting bvb.

weschrist or whoever you are, you are definitely one of the hugest as#@&%e losers on this forum. You start a thread, mock a religious figure who many people deeply respect, and then insult people who are challenging your nonsensical musings. You seem to dig this routine.

You are so lucky that I'll likely never cross your sorry path because it would be so fun to see you at the base of the crag and efficiently kick your sorry ass. Go on, continue to have fun in your anonymous painfilled world, posting like an as#@&%e.

MisterE, funny, but careful with those links, you might accidentally summon the WOS dudes.

Wow, so that is Piss Christ. Immersed in urine. Bizarre concept.

weschrist too, seems to be yearning for submersion into a tank of his own urine. Kinda like that movie Altered States. It sure would explain his pissyassed little posts.

Jaybro Edit: Yep, you're right Jay. Can't see needing to hit any women. Some guys on the other hand...

I have disliked some of the work supported by the NEA. We should never pull financial support for the arts due to politics. Andres Serrano was an artist and Piss Christ is a work of art. To know the artist's meaning, you have to learn about them and their lives. It sounds like he had a thing for corpses and bodily fluids.

If you're drinking from your own cistern, what has befallen your brethren?

weschrist, this is about you being an ass, and not showing respect. Would you make cracks about Islam or Hebrews, Buddha or other non-Christian icons? And if you would, you've confirmed what a scumbag you are.

You're being an insincere as#@&%e by pretending to be interested in an important topic and then switching to ridicule. You do make a fine troll as people have pointed out. Especially floating in your own urine on display in some tawdry gallery.

As I'm packing for the sushi fest I may have missed a few points here, but;If I learned anything from the mapplethorpe flap it is that we need public funding for art too scary for conservative deep pocket types; it keeps us honest, healthy & growing. safe art is by definition, decadent, f*#k that! potholes aren't really that hard to deal with & one bunkerbuster saved will finance more art than the 'merican public took time to look at in the 20th cent (okay, not really, but close enough)

Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do. I never heard about piss christ, but honestly, I couldn't give two sh#ts about it. So our tax dollars are paying for it. BFD. We still pay less taxes than alot of nations out there, and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with our infrastructure, and transportation network. Potholes?...please. So, sometimes you have a little bump in your daly commute. I tend to think that there are so many miles of roads in the country that are continually under repair, that they are actually doing one hell of a job keeping it nice and smooth for us. People complain about how long it takes to fix a road, but in a big city, the impacts on traffic aren't small, and traffic has to keep flowing while they work. Still, they are kickin' ass. I digress.
Crowley mentioned that the Pentagon is kiestering a bunch of money, and not hooking the troops up. What a bunch of dirty bastards. They (Bushies) should all be lined up and shot, and if we weren't in the United States, they already would have. Overall, we all enjoy a higher level of comfort and affluence than 80% of the rest of the world, so quit yer bitchn' and get happy. We've got it great!
There is one major crime though...the total gutting of music and arts from public schools. What a shame! No one can say how art is going to affect and influence people, and music is the international language. What a loss. What? Kids all need to have cell phones in the fourth grade, but can't be allowed to be exposed to learning how to play a musical instrument? Meanwhile, teachers are ordered to teach to the test and the kids are bombarded constantly with sexual images in the media, and suggestive music that sells a totally hollow and degrading image of self worth, especially for the young girls. There is a big difference between intelligent, provacative art, and the plastic srtip-mall, bubblegum, how soon can I lose my virginity pop culture that is being shoved down the throats of kids today. But they love it, they get their parents to pay big bucks to support their futzed-up lifestyle that is nothing more than a reaffirmation of the derived self through status building. But kids don't know any better. Their parents do. But parents don't vote for the arts. They vote for whatever it takes to get higher test scores so their kids can get into an ivy league school, and edge out that little Jones punk that lives a few doors down. It's really sad. I mean, who knows, maybe piss christ will mean something to someone that will inspire them create something else which will inspire someone else. You don't have to look at it if you don't want to. Heck, they won't even let you hang it on your wall. It's not about you. It's all about perception. How we percieve ourselves, our neighbors, the world, what it means to be alive, how our life influences our friends, strangers, and future generations, wheither we know it or not. In the end we all benefit from the arts.
Why do people obsess over Jesus anyway? Because Jesus is lord? Well, hallaleuja brothers and sisters. That train's bound for gloryland, better get on board. Jesus...Ummmm wait, what about his dad? God? (If you believe in that sort of thing) I thought he was lord? And what's up with all the patriarchy? How can that be the way of the universe? Men screw it up worse than anybody, and if God is a man, then we are all screwed. And Jesus is the fruit of God's loins? How does anybody feel they can make that call? Because it's written? Alot of stuff has been written. Doesn't make it true. What, God revealed his word, and it was written down accurately? Yeah right. The Bible is just a good play. Blend a little history in there to make it really believable, and oh man, best seller! Ok, it's a great play (Shakespeare eat your heart out!)probably the best of all time, but the bona-fide word of god? Yeah right, and I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell ya. I'd better stop here. Rant over...I should have deleted this post.
