I'm so pissed that I ain't gonna be around on the last day.
You don't wanna be around a pissed-off, broken-hearted old guy.
I am signing off now. My deepest respect to climbers everywhere, and to the climbers here on Supertopo. We have devoted so much time and energy to such useless endeavors, but for us those useless endeavors are what makes us feel alive and human. No one but another climber can understand what we do, what fears we have suffered, what joys we shared with each other.
I'm crying now. Goodbye.

Hey Neebee, great idea. I will do tacos, and then be sure to get a post in on the "Friday night posting while drunk" thread ;-) which will be fueled be an Arizona wine called Provisioner.
Jaybro just told me about the shut down of the topo, and I must say, I was shocked, sad, and somewhat disturbed. I at one time spent a lot of time on here and it inspired some amazing fun trips to meet some of the crazy people around here.
Maybe it will be one big party online until midnight this friday!

so far, the 'traditional' family dessert, is changed:
to a chocolate cake, :)
(two birhday folks, here, too, you know, that night) ...
and, nuts and fruit... and,
not sure yet, main course... i AM working on that... :)
and-- samavar tea time!
and, brandy, for a salute! for hopes, for us to 'find an island'
to gather, or, a FEW perhaps... :)

i think i will make a instead of a rich regal fair, which i rarely do,
