I didn't manage but I did play a slick centerfield although I had trouble hitting their pitcher's (forget his name) screwball. The bats were from bristlecone pine....naughty I know but they sure were durable. Sad to say they just don't make things like they used to.

How about Trout....a home run and his 1000th hit on his 26th birthday. The 4th time he has hit a home run on his birthday.

Don Baylor was a class act. RIP
JIM, Houston has been struggling of late, in case you've been ignoring the obvious. Besides, they're still an NL team.

Houston was an NL team until recently, is now in the AL West
Springer has been on the DL. He's chomping at the bit but with an insurmountable division lead in second week of August, there's no rush to get him back on the field
Dodgers-Astros would be a great matchup and possibly even a ratings dream. LA is a big-market, storied franchise. And the Astros have a surfeit of telegenic young guns

Uh, no. The Astros are an NL team that just happens to enjoy the fruits of playing in the Triple A division of the AL.

uh, no. AL west has been one of the toughest most balanced divisions in baseball for a number of years. This year has been one of the only recent times when one team has run away from the pack. Even this year AL west teams are holding their own as a divison.
games won per division so far in 2017:
NL West - 302
AL East - 290
AL West - 288
NL Central - 277
AL Central - 265
NL East - 261
The trick now with the expanded playoffs is to be the hot team going into the postseason. Houston is trying to rest its horses, and are losing some games as a result. Dodgers are also resting some, but just can't seem to lose. Sort of a dangerous strategy to kick back and then hope you can just turn it on again.

That's what Al Arbour told the Islanders back in the '80s. They turned it on anyway.

Here come the Angels!
Mike Trout in the postseason would be good for baseball.

The Dodgers are 8-2 since Kershaw went down. They're not gonna rush him back even though he says he feels fine.
The Washington Capitols are playing well again and are 7-3.
Houston - not so much at 3-7. Not exactly charging to the finish.
Boston looking better. Of course, if they finished third or fourth it would still be good as long as the Yankees were one place lower.

Yeah, it's a lot of fun watching him play. I'm so old now I get half off tickets to Angel games and I've been taking advantage of it.
And when Pujols batting behind him is on his game, look out.
