Heal thyself Scuffy, you are a strong lad with lots of internal strength and will weather this. Time to switch from demanding OW to the easier friction of life.

I think we were admiring Amy Jo's technique in that 1970's "how to climb" book...

and hell-yeah to you AmyJo for doing the right things here. and stealing my heart in that ol' SC how-to book that still graces my bookshelf, you know, the one I got for triple-double sale price and cherish more than even the second set of Kaukulators I just snagged for $25 on CL

Get well fast, Steve! The last time I saw you in the flesh was that day in 1977 that I wasn't feeling good and we backed off Piece de Resistance together. Always gracious, you let me go first off that old Higgins' single rap bolt while you backed it up with your body. Well, it didn't pop and we're both still here in space and time.
Endoplasticity (the recently discovered capacity of the brain to self-heal) will help you come back quickly I hope.
Have heard about your OW exploits vicariously of course, specifically that 25-footer headfirst fall you took out of me and Greg Murphy's Bin (5.10d OW) at Arch Rock. That's the main reason I turned the reins over to Murphy on the FA and glad now I did!
Get to work with that self-healing. With such an upbeat mind and positive attitude, you're bound to be back in the thick of it soon enough.

Just back from the hospital checking on Steve. I was delighted that he greeted me with a big smile and full sentence! He can string together five to eight word sentences, then get stuck on a word that comes out a bit crazy. Excellent use of all his body parts and he can write clearly although with the same curious thing that occasionally he substitutes a nonsense word for a real word. I think there was the same confusion in hearing some words too, so it required restating some questions.
Talking to Amy Jo about his condition yesterday he seems to have made significant improvements so that is good. Did not have a chance to talk to the physician attending him.
Steve's attitude was inspiring. Upbeat, smiling and laughing alot.
The story about what happened seems a bit confused. While I was there Ron Peek-a-boo Velcro showed up with a laptop and reviewed all the good wishes here and at Steve's Facebook page.
A poor phone shot.
