Dude... very sorry to hear this.

I have suffered from scoliosis and some bulging discs and some other stuff I can't pronounce for the last 2.5 years.... I could not stand or walk for a (scary) amount of time.

Now just being able to walk 1.5 miles is a real joy.

Fixing these things takes time and work.

The numb feet are the worst, how do you rate numbness on the pain scale???

We are with you

Having endured a number of joint and pinched nerve problems myself I have a certain knowledge of how you're feeling. Surgery is a last resort, especially on the back. You're wise to pick well amongst the surgeons if you have to go that route. I'm pulling for you. Would like to one day soon do some "adaptive" climbs with you amigo.

So sorry to hear about your back, Dwain. Hope you feel better very soon. I threw my back out a few months ago and I felt ancient and it was hard to have a positive attitude. Pain really sucks.

you've won an entry-ticket to Blue's Daily Prayers. You got a mention, so you have that to look forward to, should be feeling it soon.

I forgot to mention that a friend of mine, a climber in his mid 50s, had the same problems with stenosis. He underwent a two hour surgery by a well-known doctor in the Vail Medical Center. The procedure according to my friend was like a "roto-rooter" and cleared up his problem quickly.
