just goes to show, since everyone you think so highly of is sour and corrupt, it follows that there are clearly things like that wrong w/ YOU! we may not know what they are (yet) jeff, but there can be no doubt that you are the devil incarnate, the living satan himself. why else would you be attempting, so consistently, to bring about a religious war? why are you so interested in military conflict? why are you so pro-war? so anti-muslim?
you're the devil-
it's clear as day.
duh... it's so obvious.
(and no wonder you heckle me, what would i expect from the devil anyway?)
brilliant cover, some fat jewish as#@&%e, who would expect the devil to look like that?
("brilliant!")
("i was ACTING!")
("BRILLIANT!")
("thank you")
you woulda pulled it off if only you hadn't allowed your natural tendencies to pour out of you in your constant butt licking of all the republicans at every street corner in town.

Can't agree with you on this one, Karl. MM has consistently voiced a "Holier than thou, I love America you hate it" 'tude that no one else has stated, except perhaps Jody occasionally. Well, MM isn't holier than us and I'm not exactly sure what the actions he admitted to demonstrate about him, but I know that it does not demonstrate any particular love for America or respect for its instutions or people, at least any greater love or respect than the rest of us have.
So then why bring yourself down to that level. If you're bothered by his attitude, assuming a similar one and saying, "he's a real f*#khead, see? see!?" doesn't really do much to show that you're any better than him, or at least that you attitude is any better.
I just don't really get how people can get off on kicking someone when they're down, no matter what kind of evil/slimy/bad thing they might have done at some point in the past.

Forest, it's not about kicking someone when he is down. It's about knocking a mean-spirited, hypocritical, self-righteous blowhard off his high-horse. He set himself up for this: he got on that horse and rode into town all by himself. If he is going to look down on everyone else, then he'd better be the better person.

MM is hypocritical like patrick said.
none of us are perfect. but if any of you have ever seen the result of people hooked on prescription drugs coming off of them, you might see that this little escapade of sex for painkillers has far more severe possibilities.
i knew a woman who was on 17 different scripts from the same doc. You freaking name it she was on it. when she went to rehab i seriously thought she was a goner. it took over 30 days just to get thru the most severe physical part.
i wonder how many people the good doctor did this too? what are their lives like?
MM, let your god be the judge of you.

If true, it's very sad.
MM to TGreene:
Just last week we talked for an hour about the miracles given us by our Lord. I'm sending my prayers, asking for another miracle to be given you.
May God's light shine down upon you, and show you the way. Best wishes for a complete recovery.
If true, may his own words work for him.

Cjain, like Karl, you are being gracious and make some good points. But I wonder, by the tone and nature of MM's posts, if he really has learned anything.
I know I haven't.

No point in showing someone compassion when they're up. It only counts when they're down. If "the rest of us" want to do things differently, that's what we have to do.
How is anybody going to consider joining us otherwise?
Same with Limbaugh with his drugs. We can't forget the incident or tolerate further intolerance from Rush, but I won't apply a double standard to him either.
The wrong woman could make a mess of many of our lives. I'm scared to pass judgement cause I only have a small portion of grace to protect me.
I understand those who would disagree. Believe me, while a feel a bit sorry for Foley, the whole scandal has a big sweet side for me too.
Peace

But that's my point. How is it a good idea to respond to something like this in a mean-spirited and self-righteous manner?
As someone else said, this was potentially a couple of years ago. Dealt with already? It doesn't sound like he got off scott free or anything...
I guess it just seems like none of us are involved. How is this relevant to any of the arguments any of us have had with MM? Sure he comes off as a pompous dick. It doesn't mean his behavior, prosecution, conviction, whatever, of a few years ago has any bearing on it. Without that behavior, he'd be just as much of a pompous dick, IMHO.

Forest, I'm sorry, but I see NOTHING wrong with calling out a hypocrite when one is spotted. If he didn't want to be publicly called out like this, then perhaps he shouldn't have repeatedly and publicly insulted dozens of members on this board. He played the self-righteous card--not me.
He repeatedly went way too far--now it's bitten him in the ass. No sympathy from me at all.

Actually, no. *you're* biting him in the ass. He's already presumably had to deal with the consequences of his actions. That's why we have a legal system in place. It's not your responsibility to twist the knife.
Now, if you'd been personalyl involved, then that woudl make sense to me, but this "vigilante justice" BS strikes me as just that.

Sorry Forest, but again I don't see what is wrong with outing a hypocrite. He pissed off a lot of people here by climbing on his high horse and insulting people. Well, there are consequences to doing that. And you know what? Sometimes there SHOULD be consequences for doing that. It helps keep the peace.
Maybe he'll be a little nicer to people next time. Or, maybe he'll be humiliated and leave. Either way, ST is better off.

Part of the motivation of allegidly "outting" him is that my friend who had contact with him felt uncomfortable - she's concerned she's not alone. As noted in an earlier post another young woman from this forum emailed me (SHORTLY after the initial post) stating she heard about MM (and I do mean MM - not the possible second doc from Penn named Doyle) the day before from a woman friend of hers who he approached - she was told his actions were creepy. She had heard this from a friend of hers. Much of my motivation revolves around awareness of who we are dealing with. That, and the high-horse BS has gone on long enough.
This isn't about the past - it's about the present.

That could have easily been handled with a couple of private emails to both her and MM. The public flogging thing is pretty lame, tho, IMHO, satisfying as it might be...
I'll shut up now.

the devil made him do it.
you think he is getting laid now that he cant bribe them with drugs? maybe he had to come prey here, like some others that have not been around lately?
creeeeepy.
edit:
the other thing that is kind of creepy is how the internet can be used so successfully as an investigative tool. kind of scary. it had me wondering today whether i ever dissed a job much and had my name attached. kind of scary. and how were the text messages captured by foley? does anyone know that? are chat rooms recorded everywhere somewhere?

Forest: "That could have easily been handled with a couple of private emails to both her and MM"
That sure stopped Foley and no doubt the Republican's were trying to adhere to that quiet approach with Clinton. The Feds didn't pick Doyle at random with a dartboard and a listing out of the yellow pages - someone was complaining about him and they sent someone in to see if it was true. It clearly was.
The scariest thing about him to me is not the unprofessionalism or the inappropriate behavior to women - those are bad - but it's that someone who thought and wrote like he did could actually make it through a medical school somewhere. Such limited, narrow, and dogmatic thinking in someone in that capacity - if it wasn't just an online personna - is simply a frightening prospect.

If MM were elected to public office, then for sure, it's all out on the table. That's what you sign up for.
It seems pretty likely that a "stay away from her or I'm going to out you on supertopo" would have been perfectly effective. If not, then cool, go for it, I guess. There just seemed to be entirely too much joy taken in the outing, IMHO.
Also, emailing the info to the creeped out lady would certainly answer the question of whether she was the only one, which you said the outing was all about.
Damn, I'm really going to try to shut up now and let this be, but not if people keep saying things to me that demand a response...
