It might be possible to debate the content of the original post, but what followed (for the info of Capt Kirk) really did get slanderous.
If there is a problem with a ranger acting out of line, It's probably appropriate to talk about dates, actions, and get together and document for a complaint, but I can understand why Supertopo can't tolerate an anonymous slander mob. Too often, in some cases, turns out to be untrue or at least exaggerated. Look at that thread some guy chimed in telling us how evil HealyJ was, without saying what.

wow, for some reason all my posts are dissapearing. I wonder why? perhaps it's because I speak to truth? Maybe the kapt. Kirk thread hit a little close to home? and my add on said it all... So, I'll post again.... A weasel is as a weasel does. If Jack(A$$) wasn't so, he would scoff at all this, and move on through life. But since it's true, he's offended and my post dissapears,,, Let's see how long this post stick around?

Yo Chris Mac, You may have forgot that the post dealt mostly with Jack H's unprofessional conduct as a LEO in Yosemite. I have a close friend who has been harassed by Jack, even to the point of Jack's going through my friend's crag pack sitting at the base of Pat & Jack pinnacle area looking for something to bust him for.
Jack H is a major tool in the Lober tradition and I have no sympathy for his personal troubles. He just needs to act professionally towards park visitors & climbers alike.

I agree, LEO should act appropriately when dealing with park visitors, and it sounds like JH is a total ass.
And how sackless to post up gossip or truth about the rangers wife having an affair, and conclude the affair is the reason Jack targets poor little climbers, to discredit the ranger. Truly sackless...
I guess it has been too long since the last whining about rangers thread. Being forced to drink from a toilet during an eight hour incarceration was much more creative.

On a semi-serious note, and as Coiler (a self-proclaimed “jail-house” camp 4 lawyer who I’ve witnessed actually go out of his way to introduce himself to new LEOs (smart ass!)) pointed out before, this seems to be a reoccurring problem that isn’t just in the mind of a few “dirtbag” locals. The name changes but the story remains the same.
WTF is really going on in Yos with the HNICs? Why this pattern of climber abuse? Sure, climbers are a “high profile” group, but I’ve never heard these types of stories come out of Zion (state troopers who like to bust people for smokin’ da weed aside) or other parks where climbing is a high profile activity.
This almost seems to be a right of passage that is passed down from one dick head to the next…

Yes...if I were JH, and someone talked about my wife like that, I'd kick their ass any way that I could as a husband and a man, and not really give a sh!t whether I was wearing my LE badge or not.
Trash talk like that totally deflects attention away from any REAL issue that might be present by making the poster look even more morally bankrupt than the problem they are posting about.

hey, that wasn't me. the only time i ran into a ranger was two years ago when we got stuck behind a slow party on a route in the meadows and had to wait for a bit. we meant to be out by sunset, but we didn't get back 'til after dark. i got a ticket for having food in the car after dark. guilty as charged, but i thought it was a dumb rule and i didn't appreciate the way the ranger was talking to me and I told him so, politely. he at least tore up the parking ticket, but we wern't staying out overnight anyways so he kinda had to. and yes, it was dumb of us not to put it in a bear box anyways. like a bear is not going to break in just because it isn't dark yet. ha ha.
p.s. i'm not a princess - i'm a daughter, a sister, a cousin and a friend.

It ain't slander/libel if it's true.
I don't have experience with this particular LEO, but someone asked if anyone has "taken action" and filed complaints. Yes, in fact, I have done exactly that. In early season 2000, I filed a complaint against two LEOs with 7 co-signators to my complaint letter. AFAIK, it did f*#k-all to correct the problem.

I didn't slander Jack's wife in anyway. I didn't slander him. I know what it feels like to go thru something what he did regarding that matter.
I was mearly stating a grudge he has against some climbers in the valley....the list is rather long. And un-called for quite frankly.
Micah and Magoo had nothing to do with that incident at all. He went after both of them. Metolius Sean..I think he is somethat of a wing-nut, but went after him.
Im waiting to see if someone here is going to chime in. He spend some time in the John Muir Hotel this summer die to Jack stalking him, and had to spend some time in court.
Jack thinks it was him that was the culprit. But he's not.
Its one thing to do your job and do it well. Its another to take out personal problems on people around you due to their lifestyle, and the group of friends they associate with.
You could in some way call what Jack does as "profiling" But with a personal Vendetta.
