er, bump?
Hey, where is the free camping (other than next to the toilet paper at the turnouts)? I'll be there very late thurs night the 28th. Would like to be there longer but work has me in Ontario that day- not the "nice" Ontario either, but at least SW flies there cheap.
BigWallPaul: you got your mouse on? I know you're reading this instead of working! Don't let Amy find out you've been goofing off on supertaco. Of course I'm writing this from work.... Are you showing up Thurs the 28th? Let me know.

Cragnshag,
There is a little bit of camping available in Camp IV and I still have a fair amount left in Yellow Pines. The best thing to do is email me with the nights you need camping and how many in your party. Let me know which area you would like to camp in and I will do my best to put you there. I have the camping reserved, unheard of for Camp IV. yager@inreach.com

Matt,
I have 600 pairs of non-latex gloves and close to 200 litter sticks. The gloves are pretty thin so you may want to bring your own if you would like. I was going to pass out just single gloves to make them go further because I figure the non-gloved hand would hold the bag and the gloved hand can pick up the trash.

The trip by train and bus from here apparently requires a one night layover in sunny Merced. Bummer. Since I am a member of this society's useless relics and I am the proud possessor of a Golden Turkey, the total bill might be acceptable. Particularly if there is a Carrows near the cheapest motel in Merced. (This is shaping up to be a memorable experience!) Have to research it more. But I would be afoot and I sort of remember Yellow Pines is off somewhere? Not a climber so Sunnyside is definitely off limits. I suppose I could clean the ditches near Yellow Pine and then walk both ways from the bus depot? Without a car to put things in, how do you keep stuff from being borrowed?
Working my way into the special needs crowd.

Jstan,
Yellow Pines is on the left about a quarter mile before the Four Mile Tail and the Swinging Bridge used to be the giant John Muir Campground. Sunnyside is called Camp IV again and I could put you up in a site there. If all else fails it would be an honor to put you up in my spare bed in the YCA office in El Portal.
I beleive there is a Carrows in Merced. If you would like to attend, please email me and we can work it out. I would love to meet you. There is a Camp IV dedication ceremony at 4:00 on Sunday October 1st.

p.s. There are bear proof storage lockers in both campgrounds.

John,
By the Post Office in Yosemite Village. I suspect you have seen it before. I try to keep the cleanup casual. I realize that people have plans and not much free time. I encourage them to enjoy the Park, do what they want to do and spend some time cleaning up the area they are enjoying. Let us know where you are going by signing up so we know that area is covered and won't send others up there. Others are here to solely devote their time to more difficult tasks or certain projects. These folks are awesome and a few have have helped every Facelift day since the beginning. Kudos to them. It is all great and a lot of fun. Every bit helps.

Proto-bump.
Be sure you turn down the sleeves on your rubber or latex gloves so you can remove them without touching your skin.
And it is sad to see that the infamous alabama/georgia/tennessee white flower infestation is all across the country at climbing areas everywhere, DOH!
What are people thinking when they do that?

Starts in one week and Patrick I think it is climbing related in that it has potential to change how climbers are treated in the Park and may help with future relations and access issues.

Raffle booty is coming in at a record pace. There is a lot of good stuff. Also received the graffitti remover today for the Gunsight. For some stupid reason I decided to silkscreen 100 safety vests on my own to save money and it is taking me all day.
