If the campground is a no go I might have an alternate, but W.L. doesn't accept messages. Hmmm, interesting considering the OP.

Seems me and my partner are in. If work permits I will take the following week off and will have 30th of October through 9th of November off. Will spent more time pulling on sweet crimps with the homies and be more flexible. Would you guys want to do a supertopo outing for the CLoud Tower on one of those days? That one goes fast and we can link up partners/do teams of 3 if there are not enough leaders.

By coincidence Brassnuts and I will be around then. We will be staying in our secret bat cave though. Look forward to seeing everyone.

OK, a party wave I'm familar with. What's party walling? Just a bunch of people doing different routes on the same wall? So I should bring my jugging gear?
I'll bring my uke too.

No Zion for me. We will be driving back and climb in Bishop for several days. Makes more sense. I would be up for party walling anything that’s warm. Let’s party wall Burchey’s ass! ;0 Or hold on...is Anita coming as well? lol

So we have to somehow figure out how to coordinate all the "off campus housing" people into the climbing activity (me, cosmic, crimpie and brass, diane, wml). Maybe offline we could get a text message chain going? Supertopo mail is completely unreliable...
I like the idea of Brownstone. Haven't got out there yet.

I'm still undecided on my participation in the shindig, but there's less than a 50% probability at this point. I didn't really get enough climbing in the Dolomites (due to weather) to assess my physical condition, and therefore my ability to climb anything. That's my primary issue.
A secondary problem: Brokedownclimber's pickup is also currently Brokedownpickup, and having a new engine installed. Bwaaaaahhhhh! (Insert tears here).
Tertiary problem: I don't know about Red Rocks and what's there for someone of my ability level? Currently around 5.7-5.8. Descents? Approaches?

Thanks for the encouraging words! I guess I'm still OD'd on travel at this point after the 5,500 miles spent on United Airlines from Munich this past Monday. I need to begin hitting the Health Club to rebuild some muscles softened by (dis)use in the Dolomites, where the weather was the rainiest in 80 years; my projected 8-9 days of climbing was diminished to only 2 days on the rocks over 4 weeks there. I'm still procrastinating about going to facelift for a few days at the tail end of things; I still love the Valley, too. And then...there's always Joshua Tree calling, as is City of Rocks....

Rodger! Come on down! We'll go do Cat in the hat 5.6 or solar slabs 5.7 or tunnel vision 5.7... There are many long moderate multi's in red rock(s)! I will certainly tie in with you for a day.

Brokedown. YOU should come to Red Rock. Trust me, you will not be the weak link. (Uhhhhhh, I think that would be me lol!!)
Looking forward to meeting you all,
Chris

Hmmm?
This is beginning to sound pretty good, and Joshua Tree is about 3 hours away, so I could possibly combine the trips. Calling Locker? Calling Cosmic?
Scheming...er...planning begins! Still not certain I can make it.

Nat and I will probably attend some events but don't need camping since we will be hiding in a bat cave.

Given that hotel prices in Las Vegas escalate steeply on weekends, and that the only available campground doesn't take reservations, do you have any suggestions concerning accommodations for people coming, or thinking of coming, from 500 miles away?
