She gets me anything I want from the frig at home AND she carries my bouldering pad. I'm so glad I had her.

Observational sidenote:
One thing I've noticed as I read through these (women climber) threads is that there is very little mention of grades... Personally, I find that to be refreshing! My exerience over the years has been that most of the conversation with men (in person primarily, but also via the www) is focused on, or at the very least mentions grades... and at some point touches on your value as a person/climber based on what grade you are leading.
When I was out west most recently, I had one particular - ah - "gentleman" vainly attempt to argue with me and tell me that I didn't know how to lead when I was looking for partners (I took my own rack and rope). Perhaps it was because I wouldn't give him a grade at which I climbed (come on, it was unfamiliar rock, who knows. All I'd led on for years to that point was southern sandstone and ony twice on southern granite. I was not going to commit to a particular grade - "Oh, yeah. I'm an 5.16rx leader!!!"); perhaps it was becuase he simply didn't want to climb, regardless, I finally resorted to telling t=him that I'd led a handfull of routes at a particular grade, but most of my leading had been at other grades... He declined, based on that, to climb. His choice and his loss. I'm skipping down Tangent Lane, so allow me to back up...
My point is that one of the many things that I truly enjoy about climbing with women is that it IS simply about the climbing and the time spent together; my exerience has been that no one cares about grades. It is encouraging. It is a safe environment in which you can push your limits, get your feet wet, get frustrated, celebrate, laugh, cry, and grow. You can be yourself. Don't get me wrong, these things are all possible when climbing with the boys, but climbing with women is, for me anyway, a much more well rounded and deeper experience overall...
Thank you, Roy, for starting the threads. In a part of the country where there are not that many women who climb (unless it is with their significant other) and even less who lead (much less who lead gear!), it is refreshing and encouraging to know that there's a larger community out there who shares the same passion.

BB, I like what you said. It's not the grade, it's the quality, but I'm not really a climber, I just go out there for some fun!

Just wanted to chime in on a couple of things.
I've really enjoyed these threads - thanks to all who posted.
For some reason, pictures of women climbing are more inspirational (to me at least) than those of guys.
I agree that the lack of grades and ratings and ego-BS have been a major part of what I liked about these - there's a lesson in here for us guys, somewhere...
That last outdoor photo looks a bit like Enchanted Rock in TX...
Keep climbin'!
