If you want to learn anything about how duck calls are made or how they work, whatever you do, DON'T watch the Duck Call Show, because for some reason, it isn't about duck calls.
Television at its worst.

I paraphrase Phil Robertson on catching folks stealing his fish from hoop nets
I came up on them with a gun and said take all the fish you want (b/c Jesus preaches to love thy neighbor and enemy) He never had a problem again from folks stealing his fish.
How would you have executed that situation?

Ron, All in the Family was a comedy because it was a parody of the ignorant, and racist view point of a segment of society that existed then, and unfortunately still exist.
People laughed because it was a comedy. Nobody took it seriously. Unfortunately, the aforementioned segment of society that watches this duck show is too dumb to know any better.

So you can say any nutcrap, homophobic crap you want and get a free pass because you're "religious? What kind of religion is this? Have you no sense of decency? What is wrong with you people?
Next, you'll be whining about the The "War on Christmas" a total fiction: a make-believe issue manufactured by a by a right-wing noise machine to perpetuate a culture war and keep the Fake News base trapped in the echo chamber.

Is he a racist and a scared of gays?

So why is Phil Robertson not affored that same right?
I don't believe a single person in this thread has said the person doesn't have the legal right to free speech, but if you'd like to point out the instances, I'm happy to take note.

Roberson is talking out of his @$$, which is pretty common in those circles. The Bible calls it teaching a false gospel and you probably can assume what the bible says about THAT (not good).
Homosexuality is only mentioned in the bible seven times, and all of those are in the old testament, and not one mention of gay marriage. Jesus never said a single thing about homosexuality. One might even assume from his silence on the issue that it wasn't a big issue for him. In contrast, there are hundreds of references by Jesus on economic justice and the laws governing the accumulation and distribution of wealth. Hmmm.
I debate Christians a lot and am always surprised to learn how many of them are ignorant of what the bible actually says. You would think that if you were a Christian and if the bible was the inspired word of God that you would at least want to know what God had to say. That always puzzled me. It's also puzzling how they can go back and forth on whether or not we are supposed to follow stuff in the old testament. If it suits them we are, if it doesn't suit them we aren't.
Here's a few verses from the old testament that might interest Roberson, who likes to eat frog legs and crawdads. According to the bible it's an abomination, but only in the old testament. I know, it's confusing.
Leviticus 11:9-13
These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat. And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you: They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination. Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

The redneck DID NOT have any of his first amendment rights taken from him. His employer simply decided that he was an embarrassment and fired his fat, ignorant ass.

Why is it the activist gays are the only group all butt hurt over this?
Whiskerino lumped a bunch of others, like adulterers and drunkards, onto the same sinner totem pole he put the gays on.
But you don't see swinger groups ( adulterers ) or anyone in the alcohol industry butt hurt over being called sinners.
Walk into any bar, and tell the people getting drunk there that they're all a bunch of sinners, and their answer will be "so what?".
Why can't the activist gays say "so what" when faced with the same accusation?
The gay activists need to butch-up, and put their big-boy pants on.

This "PC Police" is another fictional bunch of bs made up by the Fake News/Sarah Palin crowd. Doesn't exist.
Equating Miley Cyrus's weird dance to Duck Dude's offensive garbage is deceptive.

What if I said I don't approve of potheads, but I will treat them all good and respect them as God has instructed.
Or if I believe traditional marriage is between one man and one women and don't want any harm to come to anyone?
That is the message I read.
What the hell have ya'll been reading or thinking?

Happiegirl...he was booted off his show....hello!
Ah, I see.. I think. I thought you were referring to comments from people here on this thread.
Cragman - Remember when CMac FINALLY pulled the threads with boob picture because his advertisers pulled their ad dollars? Not because CMac thought there was anything wrong with the objectification and/or misogyny that was so obviously associated with many of the posts, but because he was losing money.
It's a similar thing.
Supertopo- a privately owned enterprise with an owner who is allowed to make his own choices.
TLC(or whichever TC station ran that Duck Dynasty show - a privately owned enterprise with an owner who is allowed to make his or her own choices.
The man is not being arrested or charged with a criminal wrongdoing.
Let's turn this on an angle. Suppose you have a new preacher in your church. He comes on and says some stuff which people are sort of like "Hmmm. well, I'm not so sure about this new preacher. I mean, was he saying it was okay for the alter boys to pee on the hosts before communion because, boys will be boys and urine is really sterile so it wouldn't actually HURT anyone?" (just an example)
And more instances like this happen, where the congregation is beginning to think "Maaaaybe hiring this preacher wasn't the best choice...."
Then the preacher is asked to do a radio show, a local community show not associated with the church or religion in any way really. The preacher is being interviewed about patience, as part of a show where the focus is on dealing with family members who are testing one's patience.
in this interview, the preacher brings up dogs. He says something like "Well, dogs are just stupid, and being patient with them makes no sense because they can't learn anyway. I mean - dogs lick their own balls, for crying out loud! And then he says "I sure the hell would never have a dirty smelly dog in my house. I think it's okay to dump an unwanted of on the side of the road. They'll either live or die - no big deal. But of course make up some story for the benefit of your kid who asks why Fido hasn't been around. The kid is probably not old enough to understand how bad dogs are, and we are discussing being patient with our family memers here..."
Would you think the congregation ought to leave what's said alone, or do you think they should tell the preacher - "we don't feel you are the best representative for our group anymore?"
Edit: And I am sorry if reading about a dog brought up sadness over the loss of your beloved Cush. I miss Teddy every day myself, and using the dog example was not intended to somehow...well, I don't know!
