I never called anyone a dumbass or f*#kwad on this thread, couchfuker. Nobody read your post the first time you posted it... what makes you think anyone cares this time around?

In fact, the FS rework of the trail took it from "great" and made it world class. No question about it. The .gov put in at least one multi-million dollar bridge and several other significant wooden ones (you paid for it if you are a taxpayer of course).

The outlaws who installed this trail without permission cut the holy sh#t out of the forest. One of them was caught, convinced and fined early in the process, but the rest hung on and made a Sistine chapel that is loved and supported by everyone who has hiked it. Everyone. The local environmental and preservation groups were the ones who got the FS on board. Were they (The outlaws) wrong to do this? Yes. Did they do the wrong thing? No.

Did they do the wrong thing? YES.

They caused incredible environmental damage, so much so that the FS had to spend millions to rework the trail to make it safe and sustainable. If it had been done RIGHT in the first place, that wouldn't have had to have been done. The FS knows, just as you do, that once such a thing is done, it is virtually impossible to undo it. The only alternative is to make it right.

But the philosophy here is EXACTLY the same as the developer who destroys pristine lands for a profit...HIS profit. The same as the pirate logger who cuts down an old growth redwood....for HIS profit. The same as the camper who lights a fire when it is prohibited due to fire danger...and lights a forest fire....for HIS enjoyment. It is all about the individual.

And it is about laziness. There are processes to be followed to do this sort of thing. It involves a careful examination of the land to make sure the trail is sustainable, that a minimum of trees are cut, that no unknown archeologic sites are disturbed, that no endangered plants are destroyed, that no endangered animals are disturbed.

But, hey, who cares about any of that? Certainly not you.

Nope, not actually true Ken M. Clearly you do not know about this example so I will share some specifics. What the Forest Service did was widen it to almost 3 feet instead of the approx 1 foot, and they cut down some MASSIVE trees to straighten the trail out that the original trail went around. Then the government folks tossed the plank that crossed a small creek and built a massively impressive total over kill (and not necessary) 2 lane ATV bridge side by side across. They also put a bronze plaque on that bridge to honor some former FS comrade. Miles up at the top they put in a wheelchair accessible trail from an actual road (road was there for the last 70 years) to hit a real nice roundable overlook that they installed. None of that was "needed". As far as the work goes, except for the million dollar underpass over the road and the wooden bridges, the work was done by volunteers. Pretty much a lot of those same environmentalists and folks who had snuck in the original trail.

Was it wrong for them do put in a trail without going through the multi-million dollar multi-year paperwork process? YES! Did everyone benefit? YES!

It is totally awesome, YES. Thanks trail worker dudes!

Hope that puts your mind at ease Ken M.

Splitter dude, you're Swole man, I'd tie in any day with you. Don't compare yourself to that little shitstain Wes, he's got his own category and room in hell reserved already.

Is it possible to find written documentation regarding the FS work on the trail you are talking about? YES!

Have you provided any actual details about the location or name of said trail so people can confirm or deny the validity of your idiotic, irrelevant, likely falsified story? NO!

Is a trail in the PNW anything at all like an ancient Juniper in a sea of grainite in Tahoe? NO!

Just more irrelevant bullshit from the couchfukr.

Why is it the developer who bulldozes a mountain, uses it to fill a lake, and then cuts down all the trees

names it mountain lake forest?

Why not, Parking Lot Tract?

The climb under question was named "The Old Cedar Route", right?

THe spirit would be captured better by "Get the ---- out of my way."

Jstan, they say it's tradition to name the project for whatever you are bulldozing over and displacing.

"Forest Oaks" ...."Beavercreek"...."Deer Meadow Lane".....Etc etc, Lol

Dingus,
"Its another sin altogether making that work known to the public?"
Although it was word of mouth at first, seeing cars parked at an impromptu trail head on the main road was another giveaway:-) In fact, that's how I first learned of it while driving to my climbing area...hmmm, what are those cars doing?" Next rainy exploration day heading over.

Deekaid - I don't think you have the impact that you think you do.
who me? i suspect so (since you posted it right after my last post).

how did you know that i was impacted? mega impacted in fact. bogus situation, for a while there. it got to the point that i was checking my eyeballs to see if they were turning brown.

no worries though. this "geriatric" gal who is just a couple years older than myself (more of an 'old fartress' than a gerry, btw) turned me on to this herbal remedy she uses (as everyone knows, impactedness/constipation is epidemic among us geriatrics). it worked waaaaay better than any of those over the counter remedies (i've tried them all). i got really cleaned out in a matter of minutes. no more 'log jam'. i'm feeling much better now.

edit: btw, thanks for asking, bro!

not sure how old ya are, but let me know if ya ever need the herbal remedy. it worked wonders. everybody over fifty should be aware of it.

WTF?

it is exactly what you said/wrote/posted. i copied it verbatim. no more, no less!!!

EDIT: Oh, i see, my bad. but, either way it doesn't "get in the way of a good story."

You put, "I don't think you have the impact you think you do."

In error I put, "I don't think you've got the impact you think you do."

I'm not saavy/hep to cutting and pasting quotes on this forum. So, when I went to type out what you said, I made a simple grammatical error and substituted "you've got" for "you have" (bad grammar on my part). I probably automatically abbreviated "you have" to "you've got" Wasn't meant to malign you, or to set up a story line/story remains the same. my humble apology.

Plus, I left an opening for smirky comeback. I asked you a question. You could have replied something to the effect of couchmaster. "How did I know you were impacted? Because you sound like your full of shit!!!" or whatever. To late, bro! Keep grasping at straws, though. might eventually pan out.

BTW, you sound awful bitter. "fecal freak" ...watupwitdat? the Taco wearing you down? maybe time fer a break from these kinds of threads, eh?
