Back in the early 70's when I began climbing, I bought, borrowed or checked out every book on climbing I could find and get my hands on. "Learning to Rock Climb" was one of them. I probably still have it on one of my bookshelves somewhere. I remember reading it and re-reading it, over and over, time after time, ogling all the pictures, hoping someday I could look that good climbing!

I loved "Learning to Rock Climb" when I was first starting out. Robbins' books and Freedom of the Hills had great technical information, but the Loughmans' book really taught me what climbing was about, and how beautiful it could be.

I used the same textbooks as Cosmic, still have them.
Yup. Those for rock. Climbing Ice and The Ice Experience For ice. Truly the bibles at the time.
