What I said is I don't know the exact reason (though I am sure my speculation is pretty close to the mark) they are doing it NOW. Our FT benefits already meet the ACA standards. I do know the changes to the FT/PT workforce WERE because of the ACA.
Plus, why does it matter when? Changes to the FT/PT ratio in businesses are happening because of the ACA.
Read the posts without trying to fit them to a political angle. I am not making a judgement about the ACA.
EDIT: Norton is correct, there has been a movement to more and more PT help for quite a while (even before Bush) but I have seen a big change on the monitoring of it (again, in my circumstance) since the ACA.

Quick, get on a wall with tons of food and water. At least you won't hear the sirens at night and see the traffic coming in from Wawona at all hours of the night.

no Ronny,
stating a fact that Bush was President when the country went into recession is not "blame"
it is a statement of fact, or "truth"
no doubt you do not understand the difference

I think the real ACA question is: if there are 47 Werner clones, do they all fall under his one plan or do they each need to get there own?

In 1990 we came down from the RNW of Half Dome to an empty valley in a shut down. Started driving out the valley and noticed there wasn't a single party on the Nose. Realizing we would never get a chance like this again we abandoned our responsibilities back home and had the nose all to ourselves.

Harry - was that during the fires? I was "trapped" in the Valley with a bunch of other Curry employees. It was awesome. Did Mr. Natural the first time that week.
Folks were plenty pissed when NPS enforced prohibition.
If you had a sixer you could make some cash :)

Republican extortion tactics using the debt ceiling is not principled; it is irresponsible grandstanding that plays to a portion of the public that doesn't understand that raising the debt ceiling is not a move to incur more debt, but is for the purpose of paying existing debt. Regardless of the need to get our fiscal house in order, the US needs to honor existing debts. To dishonor, or default on our debts, is certainly not good governance and is not a principled position. The 2011 debt crisis cost the US approximately 1.3 billion in extra interest payments in 2011 alone, according to the GAO. The increase in debt service costs arose from increased interest rates on US debt because the US credit rating was lowered for the first time in our history.
I am a libertarian by nature, but reason should be the foundation of a libertarians' position. Not honoring our existing debt is irrational and irresponsible. Obama is being he adult in the room by making a stand on ending this form of mismanagement by crisis.
Got a ten day trip to the Valley coming up on the middle of this next month.....I hope.

It seems it's possible for a minority party to stop practically any legislation if they choose to obstruct. That defeats democracy and defeats the ability of government to implement policies for the good of all
and it swings both ways. If this becomes the norm, if by some change the GOP gains power, why wouldn't the DEM just stop everything they try to do?
Place nice in the sandbox idiots

"...if by some change the GOP gains power, why wouldn't the DEM just stop everything they try to do?"
That's the usual turnabout perspective on this political dynamic, but the reality is that this works for the Repugs because they have the ability to line up in goose-step formation, while getting the Dems lined up is usually like herding cats. If Dems could get their constituents lined up the same way, this country would be far further down the progressive road.

The Yosemite National Park Shutdown is now in day 2. They have shut off Yosemite Valley to all visitors, you will be diverted at El Capitan Crossover. All roads through Yosemite, Hwy 120/140/41/Tioga Pass are open as you can drive through the park. Rangers are manning the gates and they are not charging to drive through. Glacier Point road is closed.
They have closed off more turnouts with cones and signs and no one is supposed to stop, just drive through. The closed turnouts I saw had visitors going around the cones and stopping to enjoy the views. Wonder why folks cant stop in turnouts to enjoy the views and what will a ranger do if he sees a car stopped?

CF, thanks for the info.
Can you just walk into park via the entrance gates and climb there?
Are they closed parking lots between El Portal and the gates?

Can you just walk into park via the entrance gates and climb there?
It's closed.
What part of closed do you guys not understand?
If someone gets hurt then you call us for participating in a closure area?
You will will be completely hosed and the fines exorbitant.
No one one likes or wants this total fubar here but we have to live with it.
Resources are at rock bottom minimum to deal with anything.
That's why it's closed .......
