wow. be safe out there.

Re: the "biblical rainfall" predicted by NOAA - Or, Noah, depending... - dont insurance companies commonly refer to "acts of God" in their terms and conditions?

In fact I remember the brit comedian bill bailey talking about this.. where is it.. aha!

Can someone get that ark on Mt. Ararat out of mothballs please.

Jim, I think I read a thread here on the Taco that places the ark on the moon.

Edit: Yep, found it. Even if we could get it to the Front Range, would it still be flood worthy?

Our house is okay: our neighborhood is basically on a ridge in NoBo. 200 yards south is another matter because it's under water.

adatesman, the neighborhood your relative lives in is in the very lower left corner of the map TwistedCrank posted U/T. It's the small wedge where the two main roads are about to come together, and the small thread of a flood zone you can see there is Bear Creek, which is west of the 'hood. Those roads which come together are Hwy 36 and Foothills Parkway and you should be able to see them on Google Maps.

God's wrath against the heathen commies of the People's Republic?

A few houses less in Eldo might leave room for a hostel,....

(sounds mean, I'm joking. Hang in there Boulder, and remember that to prevent mold slather wet spots with rubbing alcohol)

Thanks Mal. My FiL got the call back about an hour ago, and Uncle Bob's ok. Wet, but otherwise everything's fine.

They get all redneck in Utah using pickups to tow wake boarders in the flooded parking lots.

Looks like fun!

I'm in North Boulder, just off of Old Stage rd. We just took a drive, there are tons of roads out, huge land slides, most of the 20 or so houses on our street have flooded. Just watched a 1500 gallon propane tank lose it's valve and bleed out all the gas as it floated down the river.

My neighbor made it all the way down to Broadway (5 miles from here), ther said the cool little ranch on the SE corner of Lee Hill and Wagon Wheel Gap is completely gone.

Pretty intense.

We're high and dry with no f*#king beer.

You hear a lot about once in 100 this and once in 500 that.....do the math and you'll do as i do.....divide by 10.

By the way, we have been keeping records in Co. for less than 150 years....now what did happen in the previous 350?

Actually I just read what is meant by once in a hundred years as it pertains to weather.

It means that there is a 1 in a 100 chance that the weather condition will happen in a given year.

Cheers,

You hear a lot about once in 100 this and once in 500 that.....do the math and you'll do as i do.....divide by 10.

Not only that, but one must also realize it's a rolling 10/100/500 year thing... Happening now doesn't mean you're good for the next 10/100/500, but rather in any given 10/100/500 year window it statistically will only happen once. No hard start or end dates, and two or three times isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Edit- Prod- got a source? That differs from what I read a while back, and am curious which is correct.

Any chance all of that Legal Weed smoke stoked the atmosphere with enough THC particles to trigger this deluge?

I'm thinking cloud seeding here!

Conspiracy theory- Obama had the clouds seeded to create jobs.

Seriously though, ya'll take care out there; looks fugly. I've witnessed this kind of flood in Arkansas and Houston. The power released by flood water is at once amazing and horrifying.

edit: damn Ricky, you beat me to it while I was typing.
