Crusher and Huntley spent several hours yesterday getting the Titan and Standing Rock images in order and I am really looking forward to George, Huntley and Steve talking about these
two classic desert towers! This is a rare opportunity to hear about these adventures first hand.
Huntley also took some beautiful shots of Layton and Charlie while they were putting up the Yellow Wall on the Diamond in 1962. I have turned one stunning shot of these guys high on the Diamond into a sweet 24" X 36" poster that will also be available at the show. Truly rare to have a photographer of Huntley's talent present to record historic climbs like these three.

Huntley always produced top-notch photos, regardless of the subject. It was he that convinced me that a Leica was the "only way to go" for taking high quality climbing photos.
I will sadly be unable to attend; my Jeep took a dump Tuesday: PCU went out and my expected resurrection of the wheels isn't until Monday. Everyone else...enjoy!! I'd particularly looked forward to seeing my old friends Wayne Goss, Larry Dalke, Roger Dalke, and Ray Northcutt.

Looking forward to a great event tonight.
Thanks to Steve and the organizers for putting it together.
It doesn't get any better: remembering a great climber through his routes on a magnificent mountain and gathering to help out his family.
As to Hersey soloing the Yellow Wall. If you would have predicted, 50 years ago, that one day someone would climb that route without a rope, they would have locked you up and given you electroshock therapy until you admitted that it was impossible.

Don't miss it! Because of thunderstorms, alpine starts and the like, hearing Diamond stories is probably better than actually trying to climb it :)

The presentations last night were fantastic!
Tonight we have Michael Covington, Wayne Goss, George Hurley, Larry Dalke and Roger Dalke discussing the FAs of the Curving Vine, D7, Enos Mills Wall in winter and Black Dagger to finish the Diamond climbs.
Robert Bradley unfortunately is unable to attend but we will finish off the presentations with George Hurley and Huntley Ingalls talking about climbing the Titan and Huntley and Steve Komito Standing Rock. The presentations on the two desert spires will be superb so don't miss them.
Admission to tonight alone is $25 so come and share in the fun if you missed the Friday program.
See you there!

Thanks to the direct jet service St. George to Denver that just started this month I got back to Toquerville 2 hours ago, but what a great program.
I finally got to meet Wayne Goss last night after reading his name for 40 years and what a great guy!
I only wish that I could have gotten to chat with Ray Northcutt, but Tom Hornbein signed one of Ed's posters of Everest specially for me, and I visited with George Hurley, one of the coolest climbers of all time.
I've known Mike Covington for 38 years, but he was friendlier than ever to me this weekend, and last night gave me an attaboy for helping Layton during his talk on Curving Vine which, incidently, was my first big wall.
And there were many other old friends and acquaintances including Dan, with whom I made the FA of the Merrimac Butte in '86 when his son, Ben Nevis, was just a little kid.
He is on the end here with our host Eric between.
He is now a Boulder fly fishing guide after kicking butt as an M1 Abrams gunner in Iraq!
Great job Steve and Mimi.
