Not bailing survival, kind of said my part. I do think that ST is more than just climbing, but I think that the climbing part sometimes gets short shrift for what was meant to be a "climbing forum."

That's right Ron, and climbers have a lot to say and there are plenty of places on the internet to expound on any possible subject. Just saying that climbing related threads need a little help from their friends.

Well Jim, you didn't respond to my comment about your lack of TRs or posting to all of everyone else's TRs to keep em up front either.

Survival, I don't post as many trs as some but I think that I'm a little bit above average in that regard. My thread is mostly about supporting trs, and I know that I am far above the curve in that area.
I also put up quite a few threads that, while not trs, are climbing related.
My posting is erratic because I am often out of the country or out climbing.

Hell yea! the primary reason I log onto the taco is to read trip reports when I need a little stoke. Not all of us are lucky enough to have world class climbing in your back yard... ie those of you who live in California (about 90% of the posters on this sight!)
I even write TR's from time to time - though they are insignificant exploits compared to you all!
As a person who primarily lurks around here I almost never bump any threads - good call on bumping TR's, will do from now on!

I have a TR written in my head. It is really bitchin (.12c/undercling, prollie much harder cuz it has had only 2-3 ascents in 30+ years, and many fails by .12+/.13 onsight trad climbers! I was one of the few that have done it (like 20+ years ago).
But, I'm convinced I still could do it (so fu.ck you/cuz, i know what yer thinkin')! ;)
edit: I will be sure to take pics, and maybe even a vid of the crux when i go for it. I'll title it "Old Fart Sends Desperate Undercling" lol

Not sure this crowd wants to read about my light duty adventures, so no, I don't write them. Maybe I will. I read the ones people take time to write.
I have NEVER opened that wrawae or any political or religiosity oriented thread. I avoid that campfire.
Sorry Jim, but this gripe has been logged, multiple times since the beginning.

Michelle, climbing isn't about the numbers it's about the experience...now this is an order, post a tr. Yeah this has been done before, unfortunately, repititious threads like this aren't needed to keep the religious/political threads front and center.

Every time I log in first thing I do is scan for the [TR] tag.
Never opened a politics or religion thread.

I read the trip reports, and because I've done nothing nearly as cool, I get all jealous and resentful. (Wink wink, nudge nudge.)
Besides, isn't the proper use of this wondrous medium we call the internet to spew one's misguided and shortsighted political views? (Oh, and pornography of course.)

The TRs are pretty good - often a different point of view irrespective of the climbing level. People telling stories about something significant to them is almost always worth the time. And if I've read one I bump it. Cheers, Roy

I love TRs! I really enjoy them, especially from the Mommy trenches. I live vicariously and happily through them. Plus it helps me not forget to get myself back out there... It is so dang pretty!

Hey Donini, can you keep this clutter to a minimum?
I'm trying to find TRs and threads like this just bump them down!
I couldn't resist :)
I don't get out as much as I'd like, but I try to do my part (32 in the TR format, and who knows how many lost in EtherSpace just written as normal discussion threads):
