Park Rat is indeed correct. Good eye. Sorry about the confusion. Mary Lou Long has confirmed that the picture is of Admiral Basil Beryl Knauth's father. It is RUMORED that Basil once fired a canon at the Coast Guard. Can anyone confirm this? Guido? BooDawg? Anyone else? Basil was also said to be one of the few people that could drink Warren under the table.
Here is a picture of the real Batso and Beryl that was used in his book Downward Bound.

Ken-Spoke with Harper who had a zillion miles on Bimi and he thinks it is Basil. About the cannon shot will have ask Harper but the possibility of a "shot across the bow" by either party would not be a surprise.

Thanks Guido,
The more I hear about Basil the more I wish I had met him.
Here's another Warren photo taken well before he met Beryl.

This is so cool, thanks for posting these. Love seeing old Batso pics.

I can't tell who's scarier looking.....the bat, the beast or Basil.
Didn't Dolt's daughter start a thread here a while ago? I believe she hadn't heard of the Dolt Cart. Someone email her to come here to see the Dolt cart pics.
Never mind that, I've just sent her a message. D'oh

Ken, have seen that pic before in a book/magazine and I think it may be reversed. Could that be? I will do some investigating in my library.
First guess is SFHD but reversed image.
Either way, after a respite from ST I come back and this is the first thread I clicked on. This will be a classic thread! Congratulations Ken!!!

Guido, That would be my guess too. I think you are right. The climbing looks better than advertised. Perhaps another?
