Thanks Ken, that archeology stuff fascinates me and my family.

We got on Shelley's list. Sounds like n00bs aren't as unwelcome as I might've thought!

Hello friends,

Thank you for your patience with Facelift Campsites! I'm currently assigning them in the order that they were received and will be sending confirmation emails in the next couple of weeks. If you have submitted a camping request already, you can safely assume that you'll have a site in the Valley.

Big thanks to Ken for securing so many valley sites this year! It'll be great for all of you and it makes my life much easier (I didn't like telling you that you had to camp at Tamarack or Crane when the valley sites were full... no offence to those campgrounds).

So thanks again for your patience. It's been fun seeing emails in the inbox from so many friendly folks... YOU guys really do make this event such a success. I'll miss you this year but look forward to lots of pictures and stories.

Lindsey

May I make a few FaceLift camping suggestions, speaking only for myself?

1. Please be as specific as possible as to when you intend to arrive and leave.

2. Please be flexible as to other things, e.g. which campground you hope to stay at.

3. If your plans change at any time before the FaceLift, send a message asap to yosemitefaceliftcamping@hotmail.com That's critical. Don't send a message to Ken, or anyone else. (Details re last minute and on site changes TBA.)

4. Please don't request camping unless you're reasonably sure you'll use it, especially in Camp 4. Campsites there are in high demand in late September, and it helps a lot if we can rely on people to show up as they say they will. Especially don't request camping from say Wednesday night on, for eight people, and only show up on Friday with five, without telling anyone. It's not considerate of others, and is embarrassing for the FaceLift if we're not doing what we said we would.

5. Have fun, but don't forget that all the usual Yosemite camping rules apply.

My wife decided to attend with me this year. I requested that we get at camp site together. We may even stay in the same tent. Just kidding!! She is excited and I am looking forward to introducing her to you guys. The Facelift is good times.

Things will be fine as long as I'm right next to Crowley and survival.

Exactly.

Might not be a good idea to leave your beverage sitting around unattended.
You'll hear the best Pink Floyd music of your life.

Don't worry though, we won't let the Tool getcha....

Oh, and Eggbert - a Yellow Pines approved camping module - is available for LA attendees wishing to avoid the dirt. We're taking the A-Liner to Smith.

Camping update...

Yellow Pine and Camp 4 are pretty much full. If you put in your request prior to June 1 and put Yellow Pine or Camp 4 as your top pick... you're likely in (but await confirmation emails please).

For all others with requests in later than June 1... you'll be in Upper Pines.

Thanks for your patience with camping requests everyone! It's a lot of work piecing together this camping puzzle.
