Yippee! This time I didn't make huge pics.
At risk of being a pic whore I'll post up a few more.

The Nutcracker Kingsnake. He came thru bold as could be as we were roping up and went up the first crack pitch and disappeared deep into the crack. Snakes can go up cracks way more easily then I thought.

I've had the requisite run-in with the pigeons on the Bastille and the wasps on the Wind Tower (not to mention the ticks at the base of Blob rock). But, the most unusual was once when I was on that neverending arduous hump of hike up the Ellingwood Ridge on La Plata Peak, I watched a coyote kill and partially eat a marmot just below the 14,000ft summit. Coyotes, crows and cockroaches will be around much longer that we will, they know how to make do!

Chewy, ya know why Mr Grizz goes grazing in the talus? (not a trick question)
He finds flocks (?) of moths under the boulders! Yummy, protein! "Cliff Gnars"?

As my brother joined me at the hanging belay (off chicken heads) on a route on the Sheep's Head in Cochise. We heard the unmistakeable sound of a swarm of bees (Africanized?) approaching. We both had visions of the next party to climb the route coming across our picked clean bones still hanging in our harnesses. Lucky for us they continued on.
On another trip to the Dry, also in Az. we were on the main ledge, far right, when another swarm landed, blocking our exit. We lit a small fire and got some green bush burning and waved it around ourselves to make our escape.

From Mike's Books in JTree, my friend and I saw a big horn sheep by Pee Wee rock! As we climbed, we kept looking over watching him (her?) leaping from rock to rock. My only BHS encounter in the park.

Many years ago I was following my partner up godzilla (index). He'd placed a cam right next to a wasp's nest that was deep in this crack. Of course by the time I got up there to clean it, the wasps were angry and the cam was stuck. After much stinging I got it out and kept going. Not pleasent
I topped out a climb in Leavenworth and was bringing my partner up when this mountain goat appears next to me and pushes his way between me and the anchor. Those horns are impressively sharp when seen up close!

When Riley and I did Lurking Fear last June, while on Thanksgiving Ledge at night, a Pine Marten found Riley's bag of animal cookies and ran off with them. Cute little bugger.

May as well post some bear pics also.
This is probably the closest I've been to a wild grizzly. It walked by us while we were taking a break. It never even glanced at us.
Grizzly cub acting tough. (Actually it is just eating some grass.)
Bear cubs are such pretty animals, I could watch them all day.
She looks a little sheepish, but those claws sure don't.
Happy 4th of July everyone!
