The self-exploitation PTC was engaging in can be a bit dangerous in this day and age, BVB. If she nuked her thread, she was smart to do so. Doesn't mean she can't "join the conversation" again.
The drunken bigotry and ranting coming from that stalker was hardly my kind of freakshow, but to each his own.

Okay I want to playyyyy!
First off, I like that swimsuit design. People think designing stuff is easy but when it comes to actually making it come into 3D, not so easy at all. To the OP - Did you do the actual sewing? Sketch idea and have someone make it? No offense intended, but the mirror is sort of funny though. I mean - why a mirror on a natural beach? Maybe if you had a really BIG mirror so that the edges weren't visible, and it was anchored into the sands, it might look as you were walking on water. But with the edges showing - concept needs refinement, I guess is what I'm saying.
Second - Self-taken photos do not have to be so - sorry - stupid-looking. People hold the camera up as they look at a mirror and they aren't even looking into the camera! The other thing to avoid is the "outstretched arm" being in the shot, of course. It might take a lot of tries, but eventually you'll get something workable. Here is an example, my own self-taken image:
happy, i am confused. you seem to be dissin PTC but you wanted to play? is this a case of a woman spurned?

Point is, Happi, if PTC had wandered into Hidden Valley Campground in 1972, a complete unknown, she would not merited quite the tsunami of disdain and H8 that the incognito intertards have dumped on her.
And if she came to the Pit today, she would not get the tsumami she got online. She'd be offered a hello, perhaps a beer if someone was providing. But after about 10 minutes of the "me" sh#t - everyone at the campfire would be deciding they were pretty tired after all. And rather vague about tomorrow's plans, unless they were a horny guy(who would take advantage of everyone else leaving the fire)....
Hidden Valley CG is another story.
The real question is this: why, oh why, is this routine interweb character so vilified? She wasn't necessarily. She got sh#t from some, and was caught out in some fabrications. For me - a liar gets my back up, pretty much every time. In real life or behind the computer screen. You'll note that I suggested she might not want her formal name associated with the thread. You didn't think that was any issue - but you are a bit past the daze of looking for work in a place where it's fairly likely they will do a bit of cyber-sluething. The HR person readin that thread would probably ruin her chances at any decent job she was hoping for.
I think she's a hoot And that's fine! So why not accept that to some, she was other than a hoot? Email her and tell her so!
-- that is, what she presents herself as on the internet, anyway. It's probably wrong of me to do this, but I got an email from someone who said she is much the same in 3D, and that at least a few people have felt a real need to get the hell away from the cacophony of "Me, me. ME!" by about 10 minutes in.
There are quite a few folks here who seem to feel they are better human beings simply because this woman exists. Why is that, I wonder? Is Bile the new Coke? I don't think anyone sees themselves as better "because this woman exists." That's a common thing to say, and while it is true that some people do put others down to fluff their own low self-esteem, I don't know if that was the case here. Of course, I could be wrong. What do I know. Not much.
Who would you rather deal with on the taco: LEB or PTC? LEB is loathesomely tiring. PTC is random, unpredictable, batshit crazy, and wildly entertaining.
Here's the thing - I was entertained by this one thread. But to have that on a daily basis?
Ummmm, no thanks!
But it's not UP to me to say whether someone stays or goes. It is THEIR choice(or a moderator in such cases where the forums use them). I can tell you I got a huge amount of venom from some people on rc.com a few years ago. I didn't see the need to cut n run, even though it was extremely upsetting to me. SHE chose to delete, and likely it was because she could not control the way the record was spinning.
She will probably be back, in full force, within short order. I wouldn't be so concerned you'll never hear from her again. Perhaps she simply did realize this thread might come back to haunt her and smartly ditched it.
I WILL wager that she will be back, and none the worse for wear, with an explanation as to why she deleted and a big thumbing of her nose at propriety.

There's no diss in that post. It was an honest critique, and included praise on her design effort. How do you see that as a critique? As for the photo - I always think people look stupid when posting what they think is a "good self photo" and they do the camera in the mirror, have the fat arm coming at you (not saying her arm is such at all - photos make nearer object look bigger; it can be used to advantage - but a self photo is not one of those places.
Spurned? By whom? Someone here on Supertopo? No. I may have a broken heart, but even in that, I have never been spurned.

Agreed, and there are plenty of screwed up people out there. Men who hate women, and will hurt them, if they believe they can get away with it. Ever had some stranger turn on you because you crossed their path and get within inches of you face and tell you they could easily kill you? Or rape you?
I have, and I will tell you that it did cross my mind that some type such as this could so easily create an avatar, court her to go for some backcountry day and... no more life adventure. Maybe I am now being too dramatic but there is some BIG mysogyny that gets thrown down on this site. And that's just the ones posting.

Curious as to what the guys think the appropriate response by females should have been? Seems they couldn't win regardless of what they posted. Anything negative or even perceived as negative and they are spurned or jealous. Guys had negative things to say too. Are they spurned and jealous?
Also, PTC was perfectly capable of lashing out at those who she felt slighted her. She is not a damsel in distress so the comments that she and only she was being vilified on the thread seemed odd to me. I saw lots of people called nasty names there - not just PTC.
Personally I thought the thread crossed the line with comments about baby rapists and other things. I'm shocked Chris didn't pull it for that reason alone.
I agree with Sullly - PTC's attitude was what I felt was a turn off and kept me out of the fray. I mean, she and anyone is welcome to their own attitude and we can all choose to engage or not. But to pretend it's all about skin...Jeez, we're climbers - Skin is nothing. Ugly attitude though, that can get anyone here smacked down in quick time.

Seems like a whole lot of kerfluffle about some intertoobz trolling.
Then again, given the ongoing kerfluffing, ya'll are still hooked....so a particularly effective trolling at that.
