Putting your EB's on the wrong feet was the classic way to milk a little more mileage out of them when you had worn through the oh-so-important inside edge. That may not be a mistake, but rather some old school savvy.

It looks like his kneepad is actually the left sleeve of the
jacket.
He's got some baby-sized chalkbag on, instead of the manly one
down in the lower left corner. That sucker could hold at least
17 dozen blocks.
