Max and I met her and her "Freerider in a day" partner on top of El Cap after their ascent. It was quite a moment for Max and I given that we had tried to free climb the Salathe so, so long ago. I think she actually said "1979? That was the year I was born"! when we told her when we had been up there.

It's so cool the way climbing progresses. My hat is off to her!

Amazing work Mayan! I belayed her on her final attempt of 2010, where she came brutally close to a free ascent. Her send of the first headwall pitch on that trip was one of the most impressive pieces of climbing I have ever witnessed. I knew she would be back stronger then ever to send it with authority.

Better than specops bump for worldclass femclimbers and to get some climbing on the frontpage. ref link;http://www.supertopo.com/climbers-forum/2685217/Why-Females-wont-make-the-cut-in-the-SPECOPS-Community

Simply pathetic, really.

It was a real pleasure to meet Mayan and hear what she had to say at the last Oakdale Climbers Festival.

She is a deeply motivated and brilliant climber with open horizons ahead.

Inspiring climbing being done by women is everywhere these days as it always has been if you care to look closely.
