He [Vick] ran a dog fighting ring to entertain his gangbanger friends. Now Philly is paying him big bucks because he can throw a football. And the NFL has granted him forgiveness because he draws $$.
I agree and hope the Vick receives a catastrophic injury everytime he touches the field. And I'm from Philly.

LEB = thread headed south.
She should spend eternity with Michael Vick. Serious.
With Vick's new concussion and having his grey matter jiggled, it all balances out in the end.

You got your wish, Vick suffered a concussion fom a big hit vs the Falcons. BTW he has given a significant amount of money and continues to volunteer for the ASPCA. I'm not A Vick fan but full disclosure is good for debate

@Steve. He did pay almost $1,000,000 into a fund to help the dogs rescued from Bad Newz Kennels, but that was court ordered.
Conditions of his probation required that he does public service with animal groups, like the Humane Society. His probation will be ending very soon, and it will be interesting to see if he continues the association.
I'm not a football fan, but I think he should be allowed to play and make a living. I do wonder about some of the companies that consider his character worthy of pitching their products, though.

I admire the guy for his phenomenal athleticism, but even more for the way that he was able to get back up after falling down. Some people can't forgive him because they love dogs so much, and that's understandable.
I would say that the rest is just race, but me, I'm colorblind, I didn't even notice that he wasn't pinkish.

While I'm not a fan of Vick, he does seem to generally be doing the right thing, so maybe a second chance is in order. Even though, as a dog owner, I find his crime pretty bad.
But where and how does one draw the line? I do believe there are individuals whose crimes are so heinous they should be locked away forever. Charles Manson, Himmler, etc.

you're welcome to not forgive the man for what he did. Have your personal opinion.
he did the crime and he did the time. if you wish to address if the court system "did the right thing" than do that.
But to somehow suggest that because of the nature of the crime somehow means he's no longer able to be a free American - like so MANY others in this country who have served time - then go ahead and defend that. Defend it from a legal stand point. You can't. He has every right to make a living any way he can. Or, perchance I'm missing some new laws Mr. Shrub enacted.
Sure, there are laws on the books that keeping felons from doing certain things - POTUS, etc. Playing football is not one of them last time I checked. Nor should it be in my a*#essment.
