I will trade all of Oakhursts restaurants for just a few of Josh and area's restaurants.
We have a country kitchen. It use to be pretty damn good. Now its mediocre at best.
Oriental food.. sucks
Mexican food.. plentiful but bland
burger joint.. mediocre
oh wait.. you can't have our barbecue joint unless you have a decent one to trade.

Change is inevitable, but why would you mess with a tried and true formula. Did the old Crossroads not make any money with the food they offered? I know it was always packed.

You might want to keep the Elderberry House out of that trade...

Too Strong always has a girlfriend who looks normal. Keeping them seems to be the problem. But then even I couldn't live with Dave and I happen to like him a lot.
And you would always be walking around backwards, wondering where in the hell he was and when he was gonna sneak up on ya. Just ask Dimes.

Heh Gary, somewhat agreed. But Country Kitchen has a small griddle surface and last time I got pancakes there, they'd been poured over a recent ham slice. So when I ate my pancakes, I tasted ham the entire time (I'm vegetarian so it wasn't good, I stopped when I tasted the ham).
Lol! I can see where that might be an issue. Ham flavored blueberry pancakes are right up my alley, though.
Well, until I started the no wheat diet.

Seriously, Bisquick would have for a better pancake breakfast. CR was horrible.

Everyone who had massive omlette orders had huge and happy enough orders.
Just don't order the pancakes there. It was bad....very bad.

Ate dinner there last weekend with Bonnie. She had some issues with the food. There was somewhat "aged" iceburg lettuce in the quesadilla.
I had the vegetarian chili, it seemed fine.

I'm drawing a blank. Way long ago crossroads was a great dive bar with free shuffleboard. Sort of a biker hangout. Spend a lot of time there after I became old enough to drink. They served a free Thanksgiving dinner there every year. What was the name of that place? Circle something??
EDIT: Oh yeah, I think it was called the Winner's Circle!

Bummer, that was the best thing going.

The ahi tuna is still available, though sadly the Wild Harvest salad seems to be gone forever.
I've eaten at the new Crossroads a half dozen times and have been very happy so far.
For the record, I ordered the blueberry pancakes that morning with Locker, Beth and the gang. They were delicious!

Was there the middle of last month.
First thing I noticed was having to wait outside in the cold for a table. That entry/waiting area is gone now. Food was good, but was a step down from what I remember in the previous years (I only go to Jtree once a year). It also felt like the bar seating was reduced. The soap dispenser in the men's toilet room was broken, and completely useless, but no soap was available (not meeting code) - was thinking Poppy no wash hands like on Sienfeld. The big health department sticker on the window by the door had a B score I believe.

Squeeze the globe, and while squeezing it hit/push the dispenser up. I had the same problem, but my engineering brain conquered.
Some changes good, some bad. I will say that the Mac and cheese as a side choice was fantastic...better than fries or chips anyday. Quite a few choices of sides beyond macnchee/fries/chips too. NY Reuben was average.
No idea about the breakfasts, the few times I go out for breakfast it's Santanas and on the rare occasion I'm craving quiche, the Park Rock.
Crossroads is still probably my first choice for a sit-down due to variety, although the Indian at Sams is probably the tastiest food (but I like indian and not everyone is a fan). The Thai place is decent, below avg for thai IME, and skimpy on the rice...c'mon it's freakin rice, it costs you about a nickel per serving, at least give me enough to pair with all the food.
Surprisingly, Yokozuna is pretty good for the hole in the wall it looks like from outside.
The Pie for the People place would do probably 5x more business if they put up a sign that people could actually read or that drew attention. The place is sitting on prime real estate and is almost invisible.
