Mr E, is this something like what you were looking for? 1969 Schwinn Stingray Krate, Pea Picker model.
I found this at a yard sale a neighbor was having up the street. He was having to sell it due to hard economic times. He had 5 of the other non-Krate models too, but this is the one I wanted. It weighs about 45 lbs and I'm not sure whether to put it on my living room wall as art or make a couple of bucks on it.

Normally I avoid yard sales, but this caught my eye and it was a no brainer

Wow...Can't Say....I'd be ridin that sucker! haha

And that is by far one of the nicest home made singles I have seen in a while. I'm considering a Moots, my boss has one and he raves about it. Of course, this is a guy that rides a century before coming in to work...on said single speed :-| like once a week :-|.

Anyways, here is a shot of one of our tech's home built Tall Bike. He gets a lot of attention on it!

HAHA Mental that's clssic.

I used to ride my dad's old British racer all the time even though it was wayyyy too big for me.

Wish I had it now, but I wouldnt make a single speed out of it.

Wow Mike, nice shots. I will post up a pic of what's left of my bosses Ellsworth tomorrow. The frame split in like 3 places and was cracked in at least another 2.

Now that I saw those shots of Mentals, I'm going to be hitting the yard sales....with my discount I can build up some fixies pretty cheap. Build one for myself and a couple more to flip at the college lol.

Fortmental, I love the welding pron!
This is just a basic bike but it is light and comfortable and I plan to use it in my first duathlon this weekend. The skinny tires get so beaten up on Bronx streets (guaranteed pinch flat in one or both tires every time I ride no matter how alert I am) that I will be glad not to be doing any more training rides.

can't say: Nice score on the Stingray Krate! Mine was one of the non-Krates I think...

Nice shots of the fillet welds, FM! I'll have to get some shots off of the Zaskar to add. They are just fantastic welds, real artwork.

I re-purposed an old GT road bike into a single speed for my kid last year. Apparently, you can't get laid at college these days without one; new rule.

that is some funny sh#t.

Mike, my boss does hardcore hucks....like 15 footers...all the time. And a ton of hard downhill. Before the frame exploded, you could see the cracks opening up every time he pedaled lol. Was just a matter of time.

I was super buried at work today and didn't get around to the picture - it will make you laugh and cry at the same time :D I will try to snap a shot of it on my way down to our other shop Saturday when I get back from Josh.

Nice bikes everyone! Keep it up!

I brought her home last year. I adore her.

Taking her on the Bicycle Tour of Colorado in a month. Anyone else going? http://www.bicycletourcolorado.com/index.php?module=htmlpages&func=display&pid=41

How do you know it's a girl Crimpie?
Did you look under the bottom bracket? :-)

That loop looks pretty good. I did Ride The Rockies in 1990 that followed some of that same terrain (Steamboat, Granby, Estes).
