Best random Los Angeles tourist quote ever, heard near the base of Coarse And Buggy, 1980ish: "Don't touch that dial, white boy. I'll cut you up."

Thanks for the hit of JTree boys. For some cosmic reason the under-sung Bush Crack was on my mind this morning.

Long long ago, before the internet, I had sighted this crack from afar.
Clean and stark against her shield of rock, golden in the sun,
I did not forget.

Like ripping a barnacle from its rock, it is my time to leave the park.
In the wheelhouse of my '79 Honda,
stripped to one seat with a beach chair for passengers,
I feel a tug and turn my vessel west on to the dirt towards the Ranger Station.

Fires on, chalkbag, I climb in the abundant company of silent desert space.
The jams feel good, the body purring from weeks in the Park.
Descending, molecules of pungent white sage find my nose.
I sit with the plant and sing songs from the sweat lodge where I first met her sister.

So many gifts from the desert.

A trip to Josh in memory of Blitzo.

This one was a special trip to JTree, one of my all time favorite places on earth.

I don't have any photos from Blitzo's memorial
but want to thank those who made it possible and express my condolences
to those who were close to him.
It was a great send off for a special human.

We are fortunate that when talented people like Blitzo pass on, they leave us with something
that will last forever. His photos will continue to inspire me, especially when I'm in Josh.
Rest in peace Blitzo, and keep shining.
