1. Jump out of a tree with paper wings -- check

2. Jump off a roof with cardboard wings -- check

3. Jump off the top of a 40 ft. Redwood in a ropes course -- check

4. Jump out of an airplane with a parachute on -- check

5. Hang glide off the top of a mountain -- check


Only one more flight-specific goal to attain...but that'll have to wait for a while (maybe ;-)). Now I've got to concentrate on my climbing list...

Looks like you might have to live to be 100 to get to the end of the list:)

My advice, don't add to the list like I do. I am right behind ya.

Looks like you can double up on a bunch of those.

Do it with the kids. That is the best. I am on that path. F'in awesome.

love reading these...i have a ridiculously long list of things i want to do but will throw out a few:

-finish my dissertation (first on the list only b/c I'm living it everyday)
-go heli skiing in the Canadian rockies
-travel to Mongolia; spend more time in the Himalayas; travel to the Middle East
-live in New Zealand
-climb more peaks on the east side
-climb in the Wind Rivers
-someday have kids with someone awesome

I'm just gonna ride on the coat-tails of Todd's list . . . pretty good list really . . .

Raft down the entire Grand Canyon -- ditto I want to do this bad.

Climb the high points of all the states (Except Alaska) -- Actually I want to do Denali and paraglide off the summit.

Ride my bicycle from Anchorage to Seattle.
Climb Lotus Flower Tower, Yukon Territories -- beautiful climb and I love the name. I would like to do it also.

Climb the Mexican Volcanoes -- I've done Popo solo before it erupted. I would like to go back down and do Orizaba and paraglide off the summit.

Bike from San Diego to Cabo San Lucus
Have another child. (Did I say doubles?).... accomplished, May 13, 2006 (Von and Lake Gordon) -- 2 is it for me. The perfect nuclear family. Very happy.

Climb Charlotte's Dome -- did the classic route with a good professor friend. Great route.
Climb Third Pillar of Dana -- 3 pitches up and came down due to weather and lightning. Would like to finish it.
Climb Mt. Whitney -- done the classic East Face route. Would like to do the East Buttress. Keeler Needle would be Killer!

Bike to the top of White Mountain (Bishop Area)-- hiked it. Would be fun to bike it. Saw many of them huffing and puffing on bikes.

Visit Yucatan -- honey-mooned in Cozumel and dove Palancar reef with the wife, visited Chichen Itza and cenote dove in the Yucatan. Would love to do it again with our kids.

Climb in Jordan -- I would love to travel and climb throughout the Holy Land. That would be incredibly special.
See the Great Wall of China -- ok, so who is gonna be the first to do the first continious free traverse ascent of the Great Wall? Now there's a project :-0

Climb something in Patagonia -- yes would love to do.
Bike across England (W to E)
Bicycle across Australia
Climb a route on Cannon Cliff, N. H.
Climb Steck/Salathe on Sentinental (Yosemite)
Climb Grand Trono Blanca, Baja Calif. -- I need to do long routes on the El Gran Trono Blanco also. No excuse. It isn't that far from San Diego.
Climb a route in Fringe of Death Canyon, Tetons.
Visit Enchanted Rocks, Austin, Texas
Climb in the Dolomite, Italy -- I have climbed in the Italian Alps near Aosta. Seriously scared myself soloing an ice route.
Climb in Thailand -- would be really fun to do.
Parachute out of a plane -- did 21 jumps, then got into paragliding. I would like to do some safe BASE jumps and get my BASE patch. Is that even possible?

Visit the Caymen Islands -- would love to SCUBA dive and snorkel there.
Retire from teaching at age 55 -- retirement is so far off, I get depressed thinking about it.

Own a house with a swimming pool -- how about a house with a child's pool in the backyard. Does that count?

Help build my own house -- one project in Bishop has been enough for me. Next time hire Cragman :-)) Although I'm sure I couldn't afford him. ;-))

See Pyramids of Egypt -- yes, I would love to do this and dive the Red Sea. Searching for meteorites in the massive Sahara Desert would be a blast to do also.

Climb in Rio De Janero -- yes, and paragliding and then land on the famous beaches. Uh, oh. Danger. Warning. Beautiful women. Kryptonite.
Visit Belize -- would love to dive the famous Blue Holes.
Visit Cuba -- yes, and climb, dive and paraglide there, before it gets westernized and changes too much more. I would like to see it now if I could.

Go up in a hot air balloon -- first time did it and then jumped out of it with a bungee cord head first. Got it on video. Very fun.

Ride in a helicopter -- not my favorite thing to do. Did several flights in the Army. I trust fixed wings much more. With that many moving parts and forces, something is bound to give.

Have a house run on solar power -- I would love to get the homes off the grid. Working on it. Doing what I can now to conserve energy and be very efficient.

Have a fish pond with a waterfall.
Watch my son's graduate from college and get married -- yes, and to a wonderful woman, and also see my daughter graduate and marry a wonderful man. He is gonna have to get through me 1st though. Gonna be hard to do.

Have an exercise room at the house -- gotta get the garage cleaned out again so I can get back to my climbing wall and workout equip.

Own a Grand Piano -- never. I hate moving pianos. Have moved too many of them. We have a lite-weight keyboard for the kids. Both are now taking piano lessons.


Amazing list Todd. Great ideas. I'll have to look up a lot of those climbs you have listed as well as the climbing areas.

Visit another planet, or at least go into outer space. Yep, dreaming small. I think It would be awesome to look down on this blue-green ball from space.

Quit working and do whatever seems right. Play some music, climb some, ride some waves. It's happening this year. F*#k this sh#t. Let someone else sit behind a desk, I hear there are millions just waiting for it and the generous 2 week vacation packages. They are polishing up their resumes to pay off their massive student loans only to incur more of the same by buying cars, houses, and funding some expensive wife and then sending 2.5 progeny to college to start it all over again. Ah f*#k it I'm not gonna do that stuff. I'm heading south of the border to find some waves.
