Nothing traumatic, really. Sadly, dogs suffer the "human condition", also.
They were both such sweet dogs. Annie, the black one was a complete goof and not very bright but so very sweet. Kelsey, the brindle, was super intelligent, ultra fast, and mega graceful. It was amazing to see them run at full speed.
They were also surprisingly good crag dogs, too. They would just curl up and sleep the whole day while the humans climbed.

*STILL hoping to catch patty in the snow, like that, all powdered up!

My Rott pup Sheba, keepin' up with her surrogate momma Katy, RIP, (Red Heeler.) When we lived in JT.
Sheba got a bit bigger and doesn't run as fast, but she's the sweetest, friendliest girl at the beach!!

hey there watusi... wow, i am still up... seems it was all night, but i had to stop back here right quick and just saw the wonderful "sand" pictures... also:
i love the dogs running together... i wish patty ann could go run and fun with some dogs, but so far, she doesn't get to---when the come over to the neighbors, to try it out she is too excited and they get "bugged by her" ... (but these dogs, are older, that is why)...
she DOES have ONE good buddy dog, but there is no fence there (the dog has an electric color, but patty dont... so she had to have a long rope, to play there...
she LOVES other dogs, though... :)
thanks for the neat share... :)
nite nite all... :0
(too much sewing lately)... :O

Sorry, Neebee, he's definitely not in "full run." But Sundance IS enjoying his favorite activity; I put him out to graze on some nice green grass, and next thing I knew, he ended up in the haystack. By the way, even though he's 29, he can still run like the wind!

Well, I have yet to get a good one of Sadie actually running, but I do have these from a trip to South Africa...
By far, I think giraffes are the silliest creatures when they run. Its truly amazing they don't fall over.
And speaking of "boys will be boys"
These two springbock were just oozing typical male behavior (for better or for worse)!

I was guiding a group of teens on a backcountry snowboard trip with my friend and colleague Tom Beckering. We were in the Meiss hut area just north of Carson Pass (see Snowshoe Thompsen thread!). I went down the upper slope first and on my last turn scared up this beautiful Snowshoe Hare, which tore up the slope at an incredible speed. We had small radios, so I called up Tom, "Snowshoe Hare, flying your way!!" he got out his camera with the motor drive and shot this bunny at full speed.

MAx, Black & Cream German Shepard, Cain, gold lab/pit/rez dog, Sage, another rez dog, origin only guessed at.
This was an early snow in the fall and we had been working non-stop, so the dogs needed to get out. Max actually had a torn ACL from chasing a bear just the night before, but I did not realize it yet. May be why he was so intent on stopping the chase.
AS dog aggressive as that yellow dog is, he has always let his buddies beat him up.
Some of you may recognize Sage from Tuolumne, her late owner Laura was always taking her bouldering. Sage is in June Lake being pampered and getting fat.
RIP Max buddy, I sure do miss you!
