Lois, I can assure you, Robert is just fine how he is. His sensibilities may not appeal to most, but that's why we like him.

And be more passionate...

RLF,

You're just an angry, miserable person. That was an immediate observation based off your first post.

You can fool yourself, but you can't fool everyone.

First assignment for you: Find a happy place.

Blatant stupidity and ignorance?

Have you read your own posts so far?

Project much?

Is it me or is it easier for people to be miserable rather than be happy?

I mean, is it true that it's easier to smile and takes less muscles working in your face than to frown?

Or are people just inherently miserable and want to make sure others are just as miserable?

I'm at odds here because I'm trying to see the positive in everything. Kind of change my world view and see if I can build more happiness in my life and others.

Mason: Your thread seemed "fun"

Then it turned "nasty."

I noticed at least one post removed.

Then you started "preaching."

I just removed my post on the "chakra test."

Fritz - that's too bad. It got nasty because there are some miserable old guys on this site that like to make other people miserable along with them. That's just the sad truth. That's not preaching.

T*R - no, actually I didn't make it out! My girlfriend got sick this morning at like 4am before we were about to leave so we didn't go. I was bummed but she wasn't feeling well!

I love that board though! It handles amazingly and I was taking on some serious double blacks down the backside.

I might head out to Northstar this Thursday on the ski bus, though.

My friend Ezra took some terrain park advanced lessons so he's going to be showing me those tricks next time we head out together.

who has lived like a nun and meditated for 30 years.
And I definitely see things.

So is meditation and yoga one and the same? I need to limber up and find my center.

To me they are different paths to the same place if that's what you want to use yoga for.
Otherwise it can also be appreciated on the purely physical level.

I'm interested in many of its benefits. To be limber and flexible. To be more at peace, I think. To find that center that's missing maybe? Learning to accept my limited circle of influence and learning to be happy even though the world is falling into chaos.

There's this Shaolin Kung Fu place that I'm going to check out. How many bad ass kung fu climbers do ya'll know?

I answered "not at all" to all the questions, and it replied "It is not possible to determine the states of your chakras, as you didn't answer the questions".

Then I answered "definitely" to all the questions, and it replied "It is not possible to determine the states of your chakras, as you didn't answer the questions".

Then I didn't choose any of the answers, i.e. simply went with the neutral option, and it gave the same reply.

And I'd been hoping for a gratifying display of confused electrons, or something like that. Apparently the people who run the site don't have much of a sense of humour - I can think of several witty things they could have said.

I'll go to the car now. If anyone can tell me if I have a chakra, and if so why I should care, please enlighten me accordingly.

Anders, that is damn funny! I looked at the questions and could see right away how ridiculous it was and then wondered what would happen if I did what you already did. Maybe there could be a contest to see who could get a perfect +100 or -100.

I was able to get these percentages, but I had to think about what answer they were looking for. If i'd answered a few differently, I might possibly have been able to get all 100%. All my answers were either not at all or definitely.

Anders-

It's guaranteed that you have seven of them. As to what they are, well that's complicated as they exist on different levels.

From the purely physical point of view they are the places on the spinal cord where major groups of nerves join up. They include the major organs and especially endocrine glands, associated with those nerve bundles as well.

At the personality level, they represent the human unconscious or subconscious mind and energy. That's what this test is for.

At a higher level, they represent the integration of the physical and the various levels of consciousness both within oneself and the universe.

Meanwhile, back at the physical level, actions as different as yoga, chiropractic, acupuncture and martial arts rely on a knowledge of the physical chakras and sometimes also the mental and energetic aspects of the chakras. Meditation for sure works on the mental and energetic aspects.
