This is for the loved ones I have lost this year. My Aunt Irinie and my heart's gold who is my Grandmother Alitheni. This is for a man that survived one tragedy with me and who became one after I was long forgotton. This is for my clan at the cancer ward that didn't walk away from the fight.
They haunt, inspire, break my heart, anger and push me forward. They are the best parts of me, a past that shapes my days.
It is why I can say live well my friends for tomorrow may never come. Love well for it is the best part of us. Never allow injustice, be brave and true for it might be the last act, your last words. Don't waste your days.

The only reason I haven't mention JB, is that I never met him although I had chatted with him here. I thought it better to let his closer pals pay tribute. He did seem like a quality dude though. Always spoke his mind, and f*#king respect that a lot!

Summit was a really cool dog. Deserving of our respect.

Another one was Joey, Cleo's dog that had to be let go this year. Joey apparently had a long life and a long struggle. That pup is waaaaayyyy happier now, I'm sure. Cheers, Cleo and Joey!

I have been walking past this Thread cause the Title was just to painful for me to walk thru the door until tonight. First I apologize to Jerrry D. and Survival. I was going to take over Jerry's Memorial Responsibilities, but every time I tried to do it.....I failed mentally.

Thanks Survial !!!!!! For carrying on.

And Ditto all you said my special friend Anastasia.....especially, "live well today, for tomorrow may never come." lynne

Geez, don't worry Lynne, I took the easy way and made it a family affair that's all. I certainly didn't try to get it right and organized like Jerry.

It's just too important of a year in terms of our community loss to let it go.

I hope that all those wonderful families get some peace for their spirit.

This works just fine! Don't sweat it Lynne. I was probably over doing it anyhow.

yeah, tough year. i just spent a couple of days with the kid in jt, talking about bachar and the old days that we barely lived through ourselves. bachar really had a huge influence on us, namely that i never put up a first ascent on rappel in yosemite, although i did elsewhere. it was kurt's idea to get the gang together in jt this winter because life is just too short. i missed coz by a few days down there. been talking to yerian and burk, other members from tuolumne sar in the 80's. those we high livin days.

i'd like to pay tribute to a climbing friend of mine who, so far as i can tell, has missed this thread. he was to be my partner on cerro torre this coming feb, and i finally felt that this was going to be my year. he was an most gifted teacher of climbing, and i was lucky to have benefited from his wisdom in my initial 10 day AMGA course. peace be with you...CRAIG LEUBBEN.

Does someone know the names of the Mt Hood climbers?
Is it appropriate to add their names at this point?

Here's to all our good friends who have left us, and here's to all you great people who are still here to remember!
