There are plenty of these kinds of things when you live in a foreign land. Hong Kong has many, but one of my favorites is the Tak Kee Hat Company on Lantau Island.

Used to be, driving through Yucca on the way to Josh, there was a big Christian Church you would pass. The masthead out front said

Pastor: Dick Shook

I kid you knott...

I grew up with a Penny Nickel. One of my wife's best friends had a maiden name of Kandy Christmas. Her sister is named Carol.

Also, when I first started ice climbing, I used a French-made boot called La Phoques, named after the manufacturer. They were state of the art at the time, with a fiberglass midsole that supported rigid crampons well and, of course, made for great edging, and had a rubber cover over the laces to keep wetness and ice out.

"Phoque" is French for seal. Unfortunately, in French, "oque" is pronounced the way we pronounce "uck" in English.

Nancy-Anne Seancy: friend of a friend.

Melissa Sippi was a friend of my sis growing up. Naturally, she went by "Missy"

I heard of an English fellow named Orson Cart that successfully sued his parents. No idea if that one's true or not.

Restaurant in Auriol, France, just south of Aix-en-Provence...

Painful trying to order Vietnamese off a menu in Frenchf (given my lack of language skills). Good food though.
