at least one of Jansen's 9th inning called strikes was a good 6 inches off the plate according to the gameday pitch tracker. The Cubs were not happy

The Cubs got a number of favorable calls earlier. Jansen's was a makeup call.
Studies have shown they usually even out. They're just noticed more in the 9th.

Ryan entered The Guinness Book of World Records with a 100.9 mph pitch. That speed was measured by a laser radar when it was 9-10 feet from the plate; if measured at the standard distance of 50 feet from the plate (as PITCHf/x does), that extrapolates to an astounding 108.1 mph.
[Feller] in 1946, when army equipment clocked him at 98.6 mph; that measured the speed as the ball crossed home plate rather than as it left his hand, so one computation had Feller at 107.9 mph (though it was probably in the 101-to-102 range).
Both [Gossage] and Nolan Ryan were clocked at 103 mph during the 1978 All-Star Game and Gossage continued to throw upper-90s heat for most of his 22-year career

I really hate that nit picky instant replay on whether the dude kept his pinky on the bag after beating the throw to the bag. That one the other day where the runner was headfirst, well over the bag, and as his cup bounced him up with the tag still on him, he was thumbed. Total bullsh#t.
