Thank you, Leggs!!!!! And to my second Secret Santa, Neebs!!!!!
Friday was I day I'd prefer not to repeat. Two projects intersecting, a close encounter with gluten of the worst kind and learning that I would have had the job I was hoping for had I not "conflicted out". (Note that I've been trying to land a full-time position in my profession since 2007, and this is the closest I had been since then. That's an awful long time to spend rebounding!!!)
Dog tired, I arrived home around 8p to find not one, but TWO surprise packages! What a way to turn a day around!!! I don't think I had my coat half-way off before the muppet more than happily indulged me with the pronouncement that we were going to open these boxes NOW. ") Who am I to argue?
And then Neebs surprised me with a wonderful book called "Son of Harpo Speaks!" It is a wonderful tale about his life growing up with his adoptive parents, Harpo Marx & his mother. Throughout the book (I read until the wee hours on Saturday morning, forcing myself to leave 50 or so pages for another day I might need some inspiration -- lol.) In the book I learned that Harpo's original first name subjected him to the nickname "Oddie" (can you say goosebumps?!), and that I am apparently not the only adopted person that writes conversations with someone who is dead (phew!). ;D
The book is chock full of wisdom, including this wonderful passage:
My heart to the both of you for your perfect timing and wonderfully thoughtful surprises.

P.S. Leggs, re: toe socks -- too funny!!! :D I'll have to post up how these actually look after I've worn them for an hour or so...I have a mutant baby toe that refuses to be separated from its neighbor and wiggles its way next door. Hilarious!!!

I gave my 21 yr old son a pair that matched mine, on a whim, and he said, "Mamma! Really?! Toesies?!

I opened my gift this weekend-
Not only are these beautiful and a limited edition, but we just moved into a new place and have the perfect place for them as we've been on the lookout for art.

hey there say, edge.... oh my!!! i am laughing... :))
it takes a lot to make me laugh... well, what i mean is:
real quality stuff, :))
as, i don't laugh at things that make fun of folks,etc, as, i am too sensitive, :O
but as to words, critters and situations that befall all of us, wow,
i can laugh to raise my critters from comfy sleep, :O

hey there say, leggs and audey and all...
i had been wanting to get that book for her, for a LONG long time...
there is another very special part in that book that matches her life, and well:
it was time: SHE JUST did a HUGE help to my stamp-fairy, and it was NOW the perfect time to send her this book, as a 'huge thank you gift' >:D<
and, i was able to meet this open door!
now she can stay cozy, while she reads it...

Gift sent December 4 from zip code 92369, to a certain Mouse House 330 miles north, over the Cajon Pass and through the Central Valley we go. Am fretting USPS Media Mail will deliver after the 25th. Yet the gift is robust and timeless so will not suffer if delayed! Next year, Priority Mai, and tracking.
